한 강 Han Kang – awarded the 2024 #NobelPrize in Literature – was born in 1970 in the South Korean city of Gwangju before, at the age of nine, moving with her family to Seoul. She comes from a literary background, her father being a reputed novelist. Alongside her writing, she has also devoted herself to art and music, which is reflected throughout her entire literary production.

In the mood for a decent thriller? Watch Ulajh on Netflix. The film might appear familiar with cross-country diplomats on a mission but director @iamsuds ensures there is not a minute of boredom, keeps you on the edge of the seat and the twists are really good. The movie stands true to its name “ulajh” meaning “entangled”. A highly confident IFS officer on her London assignment gets stuck in a situation where her spirit is broken, almost commits suicide, but decides to turn things around by unwinding the rope around her neck, as in the obstacles! #JanhviKapoor choice of roles is commendable. She is picking up really good stories that prove her acting mettle. There are meta references to nepotism with her dad in a govt position too in the movie. But, she proves her worth to her colleagues by the end of the movie and may be in real life she will do the same with her acting too. @_AdilHussain as Jhanvi father reminded me of his pairing with Sri Devi in “English Vinglish”. Was it intended to cast her as her father? At least it worked for me! The background score by the talented @shashwatology ,of Article 370 fame, needs a special mention. Thriller bgm that keeps you hooked. The opening song sequence “mai hu tera hai vatan tu humara” just gets you into the film. The movie also closes on the same song hitting the right patriotic chords! Watch this movie without a break.
