There is a specific archetype of person in the tech community: the one who only does something because someone else told them it was impossible. 🧵1/5

So this is how the world ends. With a press release
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

I don't understand what people mean when they talk about complex agent workflows and spending millions of tokens. What are you people coding that requires all that and why is it not public?

Its mind-blowing that even Claude Fable is embarrassingly uncreative. Maybe the immaterialists are right, there is something special about consciousness and intelligence that we can't replicate.

The millennial-coded menu labels are the cherry on top. Exceptional engagement bait. Top tier advertising. 10/10

I'm trying to be witty and charming when talking to Gemini. I'm cooked aren't I? This is what having no friends does to a mf

I'd have an existential crisis and shoot myself if I was asked this
The only time someone in my family who wasn’t my mom or grandma hit me was when I was 16 and my uncle was working on his 1970s Mustang in the driveway and I asked how someone could fix a car every day for 20 years and it still didn’t work

There's no worse feeling than looking at the rest of your life and knowing that it's going to wind up like this. It's like sleep paralysis
I recently became marriage and kid-pilled bc this guy I work with died he was 53 with a drinking problem and it seems like no one cares that he died his wife divorced him about a year ago bc of the drinking problem they had no kids they’re cremating him and not even having a service (“they’re” = next of kin, his siblings I believe) it feels as if everyone figured it was only a matter of time and they’re almost relieved? anyway these are our last texts. we were working on a $150m deal he’d been dead for a few days when the police did a wellness check and found his body I figure he died Wednesday since that was the last communication (we were on a video call and he also sent some emails) he missed the Friday call bc he was dead (he’d died)

I'm still trying to figure out why I don't feel any more productive with Claude Code. Wtf is going on??

> It's July 1944 > The allies have just successfully landed in Normandy and attempts to dislodge them have failed > The Soviets are crushing you in the East > You're desperately trying to resolve the situation > A random mf starts making jokes Yeah I'd crash out too tbh

A truly insane way to live How depressing
I’d say the colors are a bit too positive for the current state of the world.

I hate the Gemini won't let me choose to save a temporary chat if I end up having a conversation I want to retain. Sometimes you want to ask a silly question but end up going down a rabbit hole, what am I supposed to do then?

Look at the replies on this.. EA would be a lot more popular if its acolytes weren't such humorless autists.

I wish I was agentic enough to come up with a basic AI course in 2023 and provide a "certification" at the end of it. I'd be rich
i see people on linkedin posting they’re getting AI certifications. what does that even mean?

I always thought "organic" advertising was terrible because of how obvious it is, turns out it actually works on so many people
If you're one of those "plumbers won't be using AI" people... I have bad news. I'm in a bunch of blue collar business owner Facebook groups. (FWIW, great market research and insights, but that's not the point). They are all talking about AI. This thread is from a plumbing owners group. A plumber asked if anyone's using AI voice recorders on job sites. He walks around dictating notes and material lists into a $169 pin on his shirt. AI transcribes everything, organizes it, and sends it to his team before he's back in the truck. Every single comment on the thread was some other plumber already using one. It's going to be the plumber with an AI pin on his collar generating quotes and material lists in real time... vs the plumber still scribbling on a notepad in his truck. Wild bifurcation of customer experience, efficiency and margin.

😅 Just in case you believe these lying influencers fed from altman's hand who have been posting all day about how GPT-5.4 is changing everything. (The pic isn't fake; the screenshot is mine.)
