not when I was going in every few weeks because of stomach pain and chronic fatigue. Not when I was in there because of how painful my periods were but when I mentioned how few my periods were and even then the only medical intervention I received was cycle regulation.

This fixation on fertility delays diagnosis and limits treatment options. These conditions are taken seriously only when they interfere with pregnancy. Not when they cause chronic pain, damage organs, increase cancer risk, destroy mental health and shorten life expectancy.

Many conditions that are labeled as βfertilityβ disorders are systemic chronic conditions that affect the entire body yet medicine frames them primarily through the lens of womenβs ability to reproduce. Infertility is often treated as the problem when in reality it is a symptom.
