This is probably the most difficult World Cup to win for any nation, because youโ€™re still going to see a lot of African teams and even Asian teams go toe to toe with the European giants throughout this tournament. The gap is not what it used to be. African and Asian football have evolved massively over the last two decades. Most of their top players are now developing in elite European leagues, playing at the highest tactical and physical level every week. When countries like Morocco, Japan, Senegal, South Korea, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Algeria, and others arrive at a World Cup, theyโ€™re no longer showing up as underdogs hoping for a miracle, theyโ€™re coming with players who are already competing against the worldโ€™s best every weekend. The coaching has improved too. Teams are far more organized tactically, better prepared defensively, and much smarter at exploiting weaknesses. Gone are the days when some nations would simply rely on passion and athleticism. Now theyโ€™re arriving with detailed game plans, structured pressing systems, defensive blocks, and clear attacking patterns. What weโ€™ve seen so far in this World Cup is proof of that. European teams are still strong, but theyโ€™re not steamrolling opponents the way many people expected. Teams like Morocco drawing Brazil, Japan holding the Netherlands, Cape Verde drawing Spain. Thatโ€™s why lifting this World Cup will be incredibly difficult. It wonโ€™t just be about beating the traditional powerhouses like Brazil, Argentina, France, England, Germany, or Spain. Youโ€™ll also have to navigate dangerous African, Asian, and even CONCACAF sides capable of punishing any mistake. The era where people could look at the fixture and automatically hand big team three points is gone. Football is becoming more global, the talent pool is deeper than ever, and this World Cup is showcasing exactly that. Every game feels like a potential upset waiting to happen.

I just love when managers walk their way to the top, there's a sense of achievement and deservedness. After his playing career at Bilbao, and retiring in the US, Iraola took a bold step to go to AEK Larnaca in Cyprus to coach, he proved himself immediately by winning the cup. He came back home in Spain to Mirandes, they were in the Segunda division and he dragged them to the semi finals of Copa Del Rey, while beating few La Liga teams on the way. He moved to Rayo Vallecano, also in the Segunda and promoted them to La Liga. The crazy thing about him is that he has a known style of play and very adaptable too. Rayo got to the final of the Conference league this season, its not a fluke because guess who their coach is? Yes, Iรฑigo Pรฉrez, who was Iraola's assistant. Bill Foley, Bournemouth's owner and the Bournemouth hierarchy like Richard Hughes wanted to play in a particular way, they had been monitoring Iraola for a long time, eventually, they found out that he was available, they grabbed him so quick, sacking Gary O'Neil who had just saved them from relegating. Iraola took Bournemouth to Europe for the first time in their history, while losing top players like Semenyo, Huijsen, Zabarnyi, Solanke, and many more, on the way. Liverpool players should be ready because he is a very demanding coach. Semenyo once said that immediately Iraola arrived at Bournemouth, they were training Monday to Sunday, something he'd never experienced before. The mastermind behind this move is Richard Hughes, he was the Technical Director at Bournemouth, he sacked Gary O'Neil for Iraola. He is now the Sporting Director at Liverpool, he has just sacked Slot for Iraola again๐Ÿ˜…. He knows the Iraola train passes only once. Congratulations to Andoni, I'm one of his biggest fans, and I think he suits Liverpool. Liverpool fans are going to see some serious high and aggressive hybrid pressing, they're also going to see some vertical and direct football which they're quite used to under Klopp and Slot's first season. When they win the ball back, Iraola hates backward passes, he wants the ball played forward asap, in summary, quick transitions. I'm excited, are you?
๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ฃ BREAKING: Liverpool reach agreement in principle to appoint Andoni Iraola as new manager, here we go! ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿผ Exclusive story from Saturday, 100% confirmed: Arne Slot left and Iraola will lead #LFC project, as expected. Talks advanced over last 48h and deal in place.

This gentleman is called Robert Kirunda (PhD, MCIArb). He has the kind of intellect that makes law look like the simplest thing in the world. If you want to understand who he is, look at how he and his team represented Vantage Mezzanine Fund in its long-running legal and arbitration battles against businessman Patrick Bitature and his Simba Group companies. Those cases showcased a legal mind operating at the highest level, navigating complex cross-border finance disputes, arbitration proceedings, enforcement actions, and high-stakes commercial litigation with remarkable precision. He stood at the center of a legal team that secured major victories for Vantage across multiple proceedings and appeals, consistently defeating attempts to block enforcement and derail arbitration processes. His legal stature goes beyond the Bitature disputes. His expertise in arbitration and commercial law earned him appointment to the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, a rare distinction reserved for lawyers whose work commands international respect. Dr. Kirunda is one of the strongest commercial litigation and arbitration lawyers Uganda has been blessed with. He belongs to that rare class of lawyers who can walk into the most complex commercial dispute and make the law appear effortless. The frightening thing about people like him is that they make extraordinarily difficult legal work look normal. I am certain he inspires many lawyers because excellence at that level cannot be hidden.

A TRIBUTE TO OWAKUNDA BRUCE @owakunda_b was a young Intelligent humble & humorous man full of life. At only 28, Bruce had dreams bigger than his age. He was driven by conviction and desire to make society better even when he (himself) didnโ€™t get anything out of it. Owakunda died with dreams-generational dreams. In a generation that values material possessions more than the public good, Bruce stood out as a defender of the Public good. A young man from Kazo that made top notch analysis fit for CNN & BBC. Bruce looked at things with a Second eye, it was never about him, it was about Uganda. In the days towards his unfortunate demise, Bruce kept reminding me โ€œYour dream is my dream & my dream is our dream.โ€ He believed in our potential as a generation. He believed in making the change we wanted instead of whining about certain situations while doing nothing about them. Bruce was witty, hilarious & humorous. One day when we had gathered with Colleagues; Muguta, Noowe, Stella, Chamie & himself, Bruce told us a story of two of his cousins who came from Kampala to the village for Christmas. He said, after the children had taken a shower, they asked for their night dresses to sleep. Unfortunately, the maid had forgotten to park them. To Bruce, a boy that had grown in Mbogo, putting on a long Tshirt without pants and sleeping necked to see Children refusing to sleep just because there were no night dresses was very shocking and unrealistic. He said, the father to the kids drove close to 150KMs (from Kanoni to Mbarara and back) to buy the night dresses. Bruce in summary said, โ€œManya ebizibu byeitu tibyo bizibu byโ€™abaana babagaiga.โ€ Bruce was full of life, it has been cut short, May his Soul Rest in Peace!
