Been waiting 1 year, 7 months and 2 days to be allowed back to Australia. All hope is gone. Anyone know ecologists in Europe that could use help with field work a few wks/mos, esp. herps or spatial/feeding eco? Dying to work & feel like I can actually DO something. Thanks🙏🦎🐍🐢

This is ASTONISHING! One of my friends in Costa Rica sent me this clip. A sloth birth at the top of a Cecropia tree, the new born doesn’t fall because of the umbilical cord! Congratulations to whoever caught this moment!

If you guys aren’t aware of the existence of this fish, you are now. Monocentris, aka the pineapple or pinecone fish. These amazing things have bioluminescent photophores on their cheeks that house symbiotic bacteria, and are some of the few animals capable of emitting red light.
