Siobhan's TEDxNHS talk is here! At least 1 in 20 children in the UK are sexually abused; this video might help them to tell someone. It might help your friend to tell YOU. If you think it's a worthwhile message, comment and share. Thank you! youtube.com/watch?v=99p01ZW4…

The government today published outline proposals on protecting children from sexual in response to the IICSA recommendations. The actual proposed legislation is not yet available, so it's not possible to say what effect this will have - if any. gov.uk/government/news/tough…

I don’t think people should throw #virginiaguiffre under the bus for agreeing to settle. If you only support her as long as she does what you want, do you really support her at all? We shouldn’t shame other survivors for making whatever choices they feel are best for them.

It’s #SexualViolenceAwarenessWeek There is still no legal duty to report known or suspected child sexual abuse to a local authority in England. Except for FGM. For all the many times people have insisted there is a legal duty, there isn’t. Cover ups continue to happen.

Regardless of when the abuse occurred, and whatever form it took. It still matters. If you are ready to talk, we're here to listen. You can reach us on 0808 801 0331, or email support@napac.org.uk. #itstillmatters #sexualviolenceawarenessweek #youarenotalone #itsnotok

Here we go. Germany does not have #mandatoryreporting, or a legal duty to report suspicions or knowledge of child abuse to a local authority. Just like England (except for FGM). bbc.com/news/world-europe-60…

'Apologies without reservation' are meaningless if you refuse to take responsibility, @ManCity. I hope @abuselawyer will be successful on appeal. Bennell had been identified as a potential offender in 1975, but no mandatory reporting - info lost. theguardian.com/football/202…
