About Siri AI and EU: 1. Your data (gallery, messages, email, call logs, notes, files, and much more) is indexed for personal context, and that info is stored on your iPhone. 2. When you use Siri AI, the request is either handled on-device or in cloud using PCC. It’s never stored or logged on Apple’s servers. Apple does not have access to it. Now, according to Apple, here’s what EU wants: “According to EU regulators, the DMA requires Apple to give any AI system nearly unlimited access to a user’s device, as well as the ability to act on that access autonomously without a user’s ongoing visibility and control. That includes the ability to read and send messages, make purchases, access files, and execute actions across any app.” What EU is asking is scary dangerous. And apparently they have rejected all the solutions proposed by Apple. And, as hinted by Joz, “We will NOT compromise on privacy and security”, Apple is likely not going to give up, so EU users are likely not going to get Siri AI anytime soon.

The level of autonomy my Codex and also OpenClaw reaches when I clearly communicate that it‘s the captain at the helm for a specific task or project by simply telling it „do what you must to xyz“ is astonishing. It‘s like you can sense it‘s getting into battle mode.

Karpathy is permitted to use Fable and Mythos. In regular conversation, "foreign national" means anyone who isn't a U.S. citizen. __BUT__ under U.S. export control laws (specifically regulations like EAR and ITAR), the law uses a strict concept called a "U.S. Person." A "U.S. Person" includes: - U.S. Citizens - Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) - Protected individuals (such as refugees or people granted asylum) Anyone who does not fall into those three buckets is legally considered a "foreign person" or "foreign national" for export controls. Therefore a green card holder is NOT considered a "foreign national" under export control laws and therefore permitted to use Fable and Mythos.
JUST IN: Andrej Karpathy, a top AI scientist at Anthropic, is reportedly barred from accessing the company’s most advanced AI model because he is not a U.S. citizen.

In light of what happened, I'm doubling down on skills like /improve. A frontier model got pulled. If it happened once, it's gonna happen again. Fable today. 4.9 tomorrow or maybe gpt 6 one day. So, treat intelligence as borrowed. Drain intelligence when it's available. Build a catalog of plans today. Then implement later with a cheaper, open source, or a model you control. Build the backlog now. github.com/shadcn/improve

While the U.S. government cites national security to regulate AI, Mistral AI is preparing to raise €3 billion to build a sovereign European alternative. The company is also hiring aggressively all over Europe, with more than 270 open positions on LinkedIn.

The US has started banning Europeans from using their latest AI models. The EU needs sovereign models that compete, otherwise we will be cut off. Mistral is perfectly positioned to deliver, European governments must choose it, and help it thrive with less burdensome rules.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

When I struggle to structure my thoughts about what's happening I turn to writing. Today about the recent US Anthropic ban news, what it says about power and dependency, and what it should mean for Europeans and citizens of the world. It's a long one. lucumr.pocoo.org/2026/6/13/a…

This is not satire: If you are a "foreign national" and want to use Fable and Mythos, all you have to do is to buy a "Trump Gold Card" for 1 million USD. It comes with a US green card, which makes you a "Lawful Permanent Resident" in the US, which under U.S. export control laws, makes you a "U.S. Person" and therefore grants you permission to use #Fable and Mythos. Trump basically sells access to #Anthropic Fable and Mythos.

If a friend pushes Fable code to a github repo I have access to (or any "non-U.S. Person" has access to) he would violate US Export Laws and face up to 20 years in prison.

Google AI Edge Gallery is already available in the EU and basically (supposedly) part of the foundation of #SiriAI. It can basically do most of the stuff on iPhone which Apple demoed with Siri AI. So, why is Google AI Edge available in the EU and Siri AI isn‘t? Is #GoogleAIEdge the test case? #wwdc apps.apple.com/de/app/google…

Time to move to US 🤷🏻‍♂️

When I looked down there my first thought wasn’t which Hollywood actors might be anchored here that moment, but rather whether there’s OpenClaw floating there, maybe even a CaptainClaw, and what systems are used on such a yachts bridge and how you would hook up an OpenClaw to it.

What OS is used? Do yachts have CLIs? APIs? What‘s the power circuit on such a yacht? How big must a yacht be to support a decent 24/7 localllm server? There is starlink for yachts so internet‘s not a problem.
