👺Most of us think of a “mid-life crisis” as a period of change, becoming a different person. But Carl Jung said it’s exactly the opposite—mid-life is when the masks we wear come off & we become our true self. Masks help us survive—even thrive—but conceal our true nature.

So true, and you think it’ll take you 1 or 2 years tops. Patience is super important both personally and professionally.
It takes about 5 years to get feature complete on your initial vision And that's with a pretty good team

Who would be crazy enough to compete head-on with AWS and pull it off? @digitalocean has built a fast-growing business focused on simplicity and ease of use. Here are my notes (and the video) from a great chat with co-founder @benuretsky #DataDrivenNYC mattturck.com/digital-ocean/

So true and hard to know when doing it for the first time.
Most of the entrepreneurial journey is unknown. Product/market fit, people, timing — unknown. The key: control what you can control. Vision. Culture. Values. Work ethic. Resourcefulness. Let others worry about what's outside of their control. You be you. Be your best self.

IMO the most toxic side effect of chronic "busyness" & meeting bloat is almost no time to ... think. As my work shifted over the years from tactical to predominantly strategic, that required much more time in deep thought, often about higher level themes on longer time scales.

love the framing of CAC as “rent on the Internet”.
24 Aug 2018
Seems physical retail will continue bouncing back at Tier A / B shopping malls simply because rents on the internet (CAC) are increasingly expensive. And if you're not paying rent, the business isn't sustainable. "How $FB / $GOOG Saved Malls"
