A senior chairman from a local private sector bank waited for nearly an hour to consult me for his wife. When he finally entered my chamber, I immediately recognised him and acknowledged his patience, sincerity, humility, and grace—especially since he could have easily secured an appointment with a single phone call. After completing the consultation, I mentioned my desire to meet him at his office regarding CSR support for my NGO, the CAD Foundation. He smiled and said, “Doctor, why should you come to my chamber? I have already come here. I will look at the papers and sanction it.” I politely declined and told him that his humility itself was a guiding force for us. Just as I had waited a month to obtain his appointment, I would meet him formally next week, follow due process, get the papers verified, and seek CSR support through the proper channel. This encounter was a powerful reminder: there is always something to learn from others. True leadership lies in humility, integrity, and leading by example.

2026 is turning out to be crazier than we thought US President Donald Trump now announces a 10% tariff on its OWN NATO allies Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, Netherlands, and Finland will see tarriffs beginning February 1st. This tariff will be increased from 10% to 25% beginning on June 1st and Tariffs will remain in effect until the US reaches a deal to buy Greenland. The unsettling part is this Tariffs were traditionally used against rivals like China and Russia Using them against NATO allies signals a erosion of trust between US and EU The next 48 hours are imp EU has an emergency meeting tomorrow EU is expected to take an aggressive approach . They could threaten to cancel the EU-US trade deal, while encouraging President Trump to negotiate. Trump should tread carefully. If the US keeps bullying other countries with tariffs to get its way, they will eventually gang up and alienate the US in global trade. What does this mean for investors ? More demand for safe haven assets like gold and perhaps foreign investors now moving money to emerging markets like India which are more domestic dependent and largely unaffected by a global trade war . But the situation is precarious and expect a lot of volatility in the near term The one country gaining from all this silently is China . China has not escalated rhetoric or inserted itself directly. But every tariff on US allies validates China’s long-standing claim that the US is an unreliable partner.
