As believers of open research, we are disappointed to see Anthropic silently degrading Fable 5 for AI development
"Any topic related to building pretraining pipelines, distributed training infrastructure, or ML accelerator design... may have limited effectiveness through Claude via methods such as prompt modification, steering vectors, or parameter-efficient fine-tuning."
Not only do they get to decide what you use LLMs for in research, but this also enables them to silently intervene in your research without you knowing.
This sets a dangerous precedent. If a model refuses openly, users can understand the boundary. If a model falls back to another model, users can still evaluate the difference. But if a model silently modifies or weakens its own answers while still pretending to help, researchers lose the ability to know whether a failed result came from their own idea, their implementation, or an invisible intervention by the model provider.
That is not safety. Safety policies should be transparent, auditable, and user-visible.
On top of that, the people most harmed by this are not the largest labs with massive teams and proprietary infrastructure. It is the independent researchers, academic groups, startups, and open-source builders who rely on public tools to compete, innovate, and pioneer AI for everyone else.

这几天见了行业内一些朋友，发现很多人都在疯狂抄底，这让我有点吃惊。
我很少谈炒币，但这次想表达一个不太一样的观点：加密货币真正的底部远没有到来。
过去大家判断加密货币的底部，主要看流动性是否枯竭：杠杆是否出清，资金是否撤退，市场是否没人愿意再买。
但这一轮的底部信号，可能会和过去不太一样。
它未必只是流动性出清，而可能会变成一种多头图腾的出清。
也就是说，像 Tom Lee 和 Saylor 这样的死多头，因为太高调、太头铁，已经不只是普通市场参与者，而是被市场符号化成了“永远不会投降”的多头代表。
所以市场很可能会逐渐形成一种新的共识：
只有等这些最坚定、最公开、最有代表性的多头也开始投降，真正的底部信号才算出现。

Once you get a good grasp on basics, I find reading too many papers and listening too many ideas could backfire. You may be either lost in others' idea or thought process could be significantly biased. That may lead to derivative works. I find it's better to be away from your desk when the problem is not even properly granulated.

昨天提到，Crypto创新者变成了给行业在鱼塘里打窝的人。
我真正想表达的是：Crypto 的创新者窘境，可能是所有行业里最严重的。
也正是这个窘境，让这个行业已经很多年没有真正创新。
很多人都在说“没有新叙事”“没有远期愿景型 founder”。但这其中大部分人，真的是在呼唤创新吗？
还是只是在这样一个人，一个带着愿力、但对这个行业的捕食结构假装一无所知的人，替镰刀在这个破烂鱼塘里重新打窝？
Crypto 过去几年最大的问题，不只是没有创新。
而是这套庞大的消费机器，在毁灭了原生文化和创新能力之后，并没有进行反思，反而继续把触手伸向别的行业。
所以互联网哪里有热点，哪里就会迅速出现这样一批人。
他们关心的不是这里能不能长出新的东西，而是这里有没有流动性，能不能包装成叙事，能不能把别人的注意力变成自己的退出通道。
这不是做大蛋糕。
甚至也不是捕鱼。
捕鱼至少还默认鱼塘明天还在。
他们的行为更像电鱼：看到任何有思想、有注意力、有未来闪光的地方，就直接扔下电网，把刚长出来的生命力一次性抽干。
这也不只是名人币、Meme 币的问题。
更多时候，它会被包装成一个看起来像是要做事的团队，带着一份狗屁不通的白皮书，讲一个关于建设、生态和未来的故事。反正所有人都只关注交易，这些东西是假的又何妨呢。
更可怕的是，这种明目张胆的作恶并不是偶然出现的，而是来自整个行业反馈机制的失灵。
当剽窃概念、捏造路线、包装伪创新都不会受到任何惩罚时，作恶就不再需要遮掩。当激励信号只在于交易所图标上的指标，利益机器碾过去之后，那些真正试图构建、试图想象未来的人，反而会被冷嘲热讽。
最后，Crypto 变成了一个害怕骗局，却最终拥抱真实之恶的地方。
因为在一个有德性的环境里，骗局至少还需要伪装。但是在一个德性败坏的环境里，真实的恶反而显得更诚实,更让人安心。
所以今天这个行业阶段的现状，不是偶然的，是所有人共同德性滑坡之后，必然长出来的结果。
其实我觉得Crypto行业基本上不存在竞争，如果你真的是专心在协议设计和研发上，你会发现大部分团队只是在流动性到来之际向市场表演创业。
什么fake it till make it也根本不存在，临时拉帮结派构建起来的团队没有一丁点韧性，只会永远奔赴下一个流动性聚集的地方。更何况临时拼凑的概念也根本不会work，随着市场热度过去，也根本无人关心。
但是这就是一个非常尴尬的地方，如果大家的商业模式都是抛给散户，这最终这就是面对流动性的零和博弈，所谓的创新者就变成了给整个行业在鱼塘里打窝的人。
当所有人都在说没有新叙事，其实也是在说，再不来人打窝，就要饿死了。

突然想聊下6551, 以及@lnkybtc
最近猛然意识到一点，这个世界剧烈变革，同时我们极度偏执，以有限印象去评估，比如认为ai的出现，将对sass 平台产生毁灭性影响, 但是最近发现 saleforce, 甲骨文，adobe 涨的不错
ai的暴富，少部分人竞争力指数级增长，但是绝大部分人依旧处于混沌状态，似乎心智未开，我们拥有世界上最强的系统，但是问不出好的问题，受制于想象力， 受制于过往习惯
所以绝大部分人，依旧需要被引导，依旧会是普通人，而传统的sass公司，😄，人家拥抱ai的进度和力度却远超普通人，比如saleforce
而这些偏见的产生和消除，应该怎么做呢，其实我们需要非常好的信息系统自动化采集，而这方面在我看来做的非常好的，就是6551，以及秋田自建的信息系统

其实6551，以前做那套dex， 我就基本不用，没啥兴趣，但是它转型作信息系统采集后，这就不一样 ，我也开始为之付费了，感觉他们路子终于走宽了，不再只是币圈的一个小赛道，信息优势采集做的足够好，不只是会员费的问题，自己做投资恐怕更容易是大头，核心在于，不要只盯着币圈这个地方，而是整个全球市场，这点方程式同样估计也是吧，这俩有些异曲同工之处
作为个体，我们同样需要构建良好的信息系统，感知全球市场的变化，以事实依据说话，而不是想象，破除，韭菜爱想象的幻觉, 走向更成熟的数据统计路线

There is also a structural problem with media around crypto shaping expectations.
Crypto-native press tends to focus on the loudest hype.
Mainstream press tends to focus on (often incorrect) arch-skeptic narratives.
There is no place for long-term builders and future vision.

Brain dump of how I'm feeling about crypto:
1/ The value proposition of blockchains as technology feels more clear and well-adopted in the mainstream than ever.
2/ What crypto is actually useful for (payments, financial markets, RWAs) is not as exciting as what most people joined the space for.
3/ We should be proud that we're being recognized and used as superior financial rails - Ethereum, Monad, Polygon, Solana, Base, etc. all recognize this and are working to bring more assets onchain.
4/ There's still a big opportunity for crypto builders to tap into the audience of crypto-natives / crypto twitter and create fun speculative experiences for them.
5/ The most successful apps in this category have all been some variety of intellectual-gambling / money experiments that allow people to strategize in environments with asymmetric upside.
6/ The difficulty with these apps is that it's very difficult to hold people's interest over long periods of time; hence the wave of shutdowns recently.
7/ People naturally lose interest over time and want to go gamble on the new flashy thing that they feel provides more asymmetric upside. Yet, for some reason, when this inevitably happens, it's called a "slow rug" by the last remaining speculators.
8/ There's a very toxic culture on CT when this happens, which sadly prevents smart people and a lot of interesting experiments ever being launched.
9/ This is reflected in the crypto developer activity charts, which are bleeding badly - despite a massive increase in overall developer activity due to AI.
10) If you are here to work on building something crypto rails are actually useful for, (likely: speculation & financial use cases) it might feel depressing rn, but I expect this to turn around, and is likely worth sticking around for.

一核有难，八核围观。
这个问题，正在今天的 Multi-Agent 时代重演。
这句话曾经被用来嘲讽多核处理器架构中的算力资源无法被有效调度。当时许多人都把这个问题归结于软件没有适配，也就是没有进行并发优化。
但站在软件设计的角度看，这个世界上绝大多数任务，并不是天然适合被并发拆分出去执行的。因为任务拆分本身需要计算，结果合并需要计算，结果验证也需要计算。更麻烦的是，它不仅增加了计算成本，还引入了额外的通信成本。
所以，除非一个任务本身高度同质化，可以被无脑均匀切分、独立执行，否则随着单点计算能力的提高，很多事情继续交给最强单核完成，反而更有效率。
Agent 也是一样。
一个 Agent 没想明白的问题，八个 Agent 也未必能想明白。更糟的是，它们还可能互相制造噪音、重复劳动、扩大幻觉。
强行上Multi-Agent，最后你可能只能得到一场成本昂贵的协作表演。

x.com/blapta/status/19261604… 一一年前差不多这个时候，我公开提出过一个判断：UTXO 链下扩容协议设计存在一个不可能三角。
最近看到 Lightspark CEO David Marcus 在访谈中承认，自托管的闪电网络无法有效部署。其实背后的原因，也正落在这个限制之中。
David Marcus 曾在 Meta 负责 Libra，后来 Libra 团队也成为 Sui 和 Aptos 的重要源头之一。他又与闪电网络设计者 Tadge Dryja 共事两年，最后得出这样的结论，我相信这不是轻率的判断，而是交过足够学费之后的结果。
当时我也花了很长时间试图突破这个限制。那段时间，我几乎看遍了区块链扩容相关的论文，只是希望找到一种真正基于比特币原生设计的支付扩容方案。
这个过程非常痛苦，也很少有人理解。
最后我也没有解决它。
但后来我意识到，这并不只是一个工程问题。它更像是某种协议结构上的边界：你无法只靠更聪明的工程实现，去绕开系统本身的约束。
经历这件事之后，我放弃了技术决定论。
我不再相信只要技术足够复杂、论文足够多、工程足够努力，就一定能把所有问题解决掉。
它让我在技术探索上变得更谦卑，也让我开始用别的方式重新理解 Crypto，以及许多非 Crypto 的问题。
一个行业若想进步，首先需要诚实。
不是每次遇到问题，都用“技术待发展”或“信仰”搪塞过去。
Crypto 总喜欢谈终局，谈新方向，却很少有人认真讨论：过去那些东西到底为什么不可行。
如果只用市场热度来判断真伪，我们就永远只能在不同周期里，看见同一种骗局换壳重演。很多叙事看起来不同，但它们背后荒谬、无法落地的原因，往往是等价的。
把这些失败结构讲清楚，不是为了泼冷水，而是为了让后来者少走弯路，也让那些道貌岸然的人少一些行骗空间。
对协议创作者来说，不要害怕遇到难以跨越的边界。真正的创新，恰恰开始于发现那些长期无人提及、无人愿意承认的边界。
