Anthropogenic impacts on the terrestrial subsurface biosphere
Amundson & co assess the importance and diversity of microbial life in the deep terrestrial subsurface & discuss how anthropogenic activity impacts microbial composition and activity in engineered subsurface systems.
UNTITLED TOUR DE FRANCE DOCUSERIES (2023)
From the producers of Drive to Survive, this series will chart the ups and downs (literally, ⛰) of eight of the teams, following their cyclists over the gruelling three-week tour. Très bon.
Our DRAM team is growing, come join our team! Together we can build community accessible software to analyze microbial genomes. We have a great team, supportive university, and Fort Collins is an amazing place to live (im biased).

6/ For US profs with US doctorates, we see universal and extreme inequality in faculty production.
🏭 Overall, 80% of US-trained profs come from just 20.4% of universities. More unequal in the Humanities; less in Education.
8️⃣ 20% of profs come from just EIGHT universities.
🚨🚨[BREAKING]🚨🚨 CSU custodial workers are being told to REMOVE OUR POSTERS.
Yesterday, a CSU custodian worker informed us of the university’s union-busting attempt targeted at GWOC. With their permission we share the communication between them and their direct supervisor. 🧵
ALT email to colostate.gradworkers@gmail.com on September 14. Message reads "I am a custodian at CSU and I just wanted to let you know that custodial crews are being told to remove your fliers if we find them. I can't say for sure where the directive came from, only that it was communicated to me by my supervisor, and he says it came from the Custodial Service Manager. I assume it was probably someone above her that gave the order though. I just wanted you to be aware of it, because it feels a lot like an attempt at union busting to me."
ALT Text message exchange between custodian and supervisor. Supervisor sends a photo of three GWOC posters, including "Grad workers join your union" and "f--k fees", with the directive "If you see these in your buildings take them down please." Response from custodian is redacted. Supervisor replies "I honestly don't know if it's students or a real union. All the information I have is that we need to take them down if they're in the hallways of our buildings for now from Custodial Service Manager (name redacted)."
