In today’s COVID-19 statistics:
- Active cases passes 200,000, cumulative confirmed cases passes 300,000
- For active cases, USA moves to second place behind Italy, with Germany and Spain close behind. Yesterday Italy added 4,132, USA added 6,326, and Spain added 4,095

Using a <button> (codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/J…) vs. a <div> that reproduces button functionality (codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/y…).
CSS: styling the div requires 1 more CSS declaration than the button
JS: <div> needs more than 2x the amount of JS to work the same as <button>
Use <button>!

You know how a webpage jumps around when loading, because it takes time to load images? Yeah, we’re fixing that.
I explain it all today in this video.
tl;dr — Add HTML width & height attributes to all your images. Starting in Dec, better loading FTW!

Want to view a single image on @imgur (literally its only job)? Good luck! You gotta successfully download (354KB) and run (1.21MB) of client-side React in order to get your image requested as resource 110 of 553. What should have been an IMG element became… this.
