RIP Ann Godoff, the publishing legend who edited some of the country's most celebrated authors. "If there were a Hall of Fame for book publishing, Ann would be voted in on the first ballot." @samrob12 nytimes.com/2026/02/25/books…

Lynwood, CA — Footage shows an ICE agent pistol whipping a 16-year-old boy in the face with a handgun as the teen appears to be raising his hands and unarmed. Other officers violently force him to the ground, kneeling on his back into a curb, in the presence of an attack dog, as local residents shout at the agents to stop hurting him. via: @allinonemobilee #goodmorningbadnews #ice #iceout #lynwood #trump
Community note
The clip shows Anaheim Police Department officers apprehending a teen suspect trying to evade arrest for robbing a jewelry store. Anaheim PD said it will launch an internal use-of-force investigation into the incident. No ICE or other federal immigration agents were involved. nbclosangeles.com/news/local/vid…

This just in from Amnesty International: "U.S. authorities must immediately release journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort. Journalism is not a crime. Reporting on protests is not a crime. Arresting journalists for their reporting is a clear example of an authoritarian practice."

Dear @WhiteHouse: Wow, the Epstein files must be really bad for Trump. Two courts rejected arrest warrants for Don Lemon. You will lose this case. Your action will only cause more people to exercise First Amendment rights. Americans will never yield to your authoritarianism.

So the AG confirms she personally ordered the arrest of a journalist.
At my direction, early this morning federal agents arrested Don Lemon, Trahern Jeen Crews, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lydell Lundy, in connection with the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. More details soon.

Trump’s right hand cannot be responsible for investigating his left hand. We need an independent, impartial investigation now.

This family statement is absolutely devastating to read. First, it should never have had to be written. The ease with which Trump’s admin takes someone’s life, and in this case a citizen, is disgusting and wrong. Second, the fact that Alex’s family, while mourning, had to write an entire paragraph rebutting lies spewed is sad and speaks to the moral void of Trump’s team.

This isn’t leadership. This is blackmail. The Department of Justice has now told Minnesota officials that they will remove ICE if they hand over their voter rolls - this is not how the law works.

Too obvious a point even to make, perhaps. But there was no “unrest” in Minneapolis before ICE and CBP showed up. ICE and CBP are the cause of the chaos…and the killings. Get them out of there.

Island residents gathered Sunday at the Milestone Rotary as a winter storm arrived on Nantucket for what was described as an “emergency protest” by the organizing group, Indivisible Nantucket. The protest was held “in solidarity with Minnesota and Maine,” the group said, and to call for the abolishment of the federal Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the aftermath of the shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti during ICE operations in Minneapolis. 📸: @CMofsen

Immigration enforcement, my ass. Bondi's letter below—essentially offering to stop attacking and murdering citizens in Minnesota in exchange for the state's voter rolls—shows what Trump, Miller et al. are really after: They want to fuck with the nation's elections so that they never have to cede power and never have to answer for their crimes. Trump needs to go. He needs to be impeached and removed. Now.

Do not let anyone tell you that you shouldn't record law enforcement (so long as you're not physically impeding them). Citizen video has decisively rebutted the administration's lies. The evidence of our eyes contradicts the dishonesty of the administration's words.

🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: Protesters in Los Angeles just projected an anti-ICE video onto a building. And it wasn’t just any building. It was Twin Towers, an ICE-linked detention facility where LASD actively collaborates with ICE for deportation screening. This is what resistance looks like when people stop pretending everything is normal.
