I get that Zoom grew during COVID, but why not Skype?

I believe the administration made 2 critical mistakes. 1 was coming out with the outlandish lie about Alex Pretti brandishing a weapon & threatening CBP. Couldve said it was an accident/rouge agents. Wouldve hurt but not as bad. The obvious gaslighting hurt them. 2 attacking 2A.
