Far-right Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir declared that about 100 Israeli doctors told him they were willing to administer lethal injections to Palestinian prisoners if executions were approved. The World Medical Association condemned the statement as “disgusting,” while major human rights groups and the head of doctors’ union rejected the proposed bill.
Ben-Gvir added: “We all came with this pin, one of the options to implement the death penalty law. There’s the possibility of hanging, the electric chair, and also anaesthesia. Since doctors said they won’t assist, I’ve received 100 messages from doctors saying, ‘Itamar, just tell us when.’”
