one thing i have never been able to understand, as a vegan, is why it’s immoral to eat dog or horse but not to eat pig or cow. that’s the same thing! there is no difference! why is one ‘disgusting’ and the other okay???
there's no good reason to eat a cow other than it tastes good. they're beautiful sweet curious darlings. every time i eat beef is a profound moral hypocrisy. for my sins i consume a gallon of milk a week and feel bad about my approximately ten pounds of beef per year.
for me, true veganism would require a moral obligation to eat the voles, mice, and other lil guys killed during the harvesting and preparation of my food because they would be wasted otherwise. and if we're being honest, i don't want to do that.
