Head of Novel Therapeutics, Dementia Research Centre, UCL; Chair NIHR dementia Translational Research Collaboration; Director NIHR UK Dementia Trials Network
I'm honoured to lead this exciting UK initiative to accelerate therapies in dementia, building a world class early phase trials network, expanding UK's incredible research expertise, improving access to drug trials for all patients #UCLH; #UCL; #trials#ARUK; #Alzheimers; #NIHR
We present results of the first trial of a TREM2 agonist in AD. This was a negative trial; nevertheless an important result in understanding the mechanism of action; it also shows ARIA can occur without removal of amyloid, informing theory on cause of ARIA.nature.com/articles/s41591-0ā¦
Really enjoyed writing this paper with amazing leaders in AD treatments and biomarkers - how we need more than just anti-amyloid therapies; how developing tau therapies and biomarkers will shape treatment options as well as the patient pathway

Please RT and respond similarly to the survey if you agree. It's the only way to get our points across!
Reminded how far things have moved in 3 years - two DMTs, blood biomarkers, innovation in clinical trials but just the beginning and need to push forwards
Why academia is sleepwalking into self-destruction. My editorial @Brain1878 If you agree with the sentiments please RT. It's important for all our sakes to stop the madness
