Could you do me a favour & share this video pls? Trying to see something... I know lots of people are experiencing lower YT views, but I want to see if boosting external links/shares makes a difference. Plus, if you like old vs new T2 games. Pls have a watch :)…

#AtariSTE FASTER (formerly "50fps racer") - latest build on real Atari STE hardware.
Current focus is on optimisation and bugfixing - most low-level routines rewritten in 68k and framerate holding up well with 5 cars on screen.
Still aiming for release in early December. 🏎️ 👍
Hoy miércoles 2 de octubre, no os podéis perder la entrevista con Javi Ortiz, El Spectrumero @tbrazil_speccy a las 21:30H en su canal de YouTube.
¡Muchísimas gracias Javi por darnos voz en tu canal!
I was just 16 when I designed Dan Dare on the ZX Spectrum in 1986. Would love to make a game with all the power of today's engines but keeping that Speccy aesthetic, just for the nostalgia.
The ultimate 2D hardware acceleration is to bypass the CPU completely: The hardware reads a tile map stored in a ROM. The CPU only sets the scroll position. A 2-byte write and done!
No wonder a Z80 got more work done on an arcade than on a ZX Spectrum!
#AtariSTE 50fps racer: speedo code now optimised resulting fewer frame drops. New "time extend" banner when passing checkpoint. Hud tidied up and high score synchs with main score.
Next stop: optimise the stars code (currently written in C!). Getting there one step at a time! 💥
We think a lot about “WHAT IF” Atari never collapsed in 1984?
Where would they be?
Would Atari have released the NES and the Amiga?
WHAT IF Intellivision and ColecoVision had survived?
Would they have weathered the storm with new 8-Bit NES rival systems into the 80s & beyond?

#AtariSTE 50fps racer: testing on real hardware (rather than emulator) for the first time in a while.
This is my very own stock Atari STE, 8MHz, 1 meg RAM. New stars ✨code needs a bit of tidying up but all looking (and sounding) great otherwise! 🚗 👍
LIONHEART for #CommodoreAmiga (Thalion 1993)
Great fantasy-themed side scrolling platformer. Using heavily the Copper (general purpose co-processor that resides in one of the Amiga's custom chips) making it a nice showcase of the Amiga computer as a games machine.

Highly polished #C64 Games No. 2 Armalyte 1988. Normally I would show the in-game footage, but just look at this attract screen! Everything about Armalyte was just so well done. Super smooth animations, pumping sound, gfx so pretty it hurt - fancy weapons system & 2 player!
Highly polished #C64 Games No.3. Turrican 2. Manfred Trenz is a genius and Turrican 2 proves it! He took his vision to a whole new level with this sequel! Loads of sprites and bullets, huge beautiful maps, mega-bosses, Shmup stages from the gods and a soundtrack to die for.
Heaven Bound #C64 1994. This is a cracking little game with a kind of Rainbow Islands meets Creatures aesthetic. Guide your Heffalump ever upwards until you reach the "Golden Gate" - It's a fun challenge.
