Genuinely my top film of the year. This was fun and gross and visually stunning. 10000/10
Cinderella meets Cronenberg in the body horror movie THE UGLY STEPSISTER, which made an audience member vomit during its Sundance premiere. Watch the official trailer.

Oh, um, no thank you. I appreciate the offer of the uh *checks notes* weak tornados, but we’re full up on natural disasters this year.

This week’s Severance was the most aggressively great writing and directing I’ve seen in a long time. Erin Wagoner and Uta Briesewitz knocked that out of the park in every way. 🤯

This was my go-to. I think I learned more about movies by wandering the shelves in here than I did at school.
Shoutout to Hollywood Video. The place that was there for us in the 90s when we struck out at Blockbuster.

Excalibur basically rewrote my dna as a kid. I pitch this visual style to @littleklep for every single project.

Thanks to Hailuo AI's new Director model, I can duplicate the Evil Dead shot now. That's groovy.

This was genuinely one of the most fun, original, gorgeous debut features I’ve ever seen. Emilie Blichfeldt is a force to be reckoned with in a real way. Couldn’t have asked for a better kick off to my first Sundance experience!!

During the #Sundance premiereĀ of ā€œThe Ugly Stepsister,ā€ a moviegoer leaned over into the aisle and vomited. Emilie Blichfeldt’s body horror film has several scenes of crude cosmetic surgery, including its protagonist eating a tapeworm, sewing in eyelashes and enduring a barbaric rhinoplasty. variety.com/2025/film/news/s…

I know I am years late to the party but Naomi Scott is giving a master class in every second of Smile 2. It’s one of those performances that deserves all the recognition.

Not to fall victim to nostalgia but I had the most vivid dream where I was wandering through a Hollywood Video and it made me genuinely emotional.

Seriously this. Arkasha Stevenson made The First Omen a two hour masterclass in horror directing that I literally think about daily.
I don’t know why we aren’t talking about THE FIRST OMEN all the time. Pretty cleanly the best studio horror movie of the year. Every sequence is directed with the confidence of a seasoned pro and coalesces into a hellscape only captured by a master. I can’t believe it exists.
