For institutional allocation that touches public code directly, the central question has always been whether applications and behaviors can be guaranteed. For a decade plus thus far in Web3, the honest answer has been "audited, but not verified." Formal verification approaches, paired with AI that can finally write the proofs at internet scale, presents an optimistic path. This is what @AlexSkidanov and the NEAR core team have been working towards which Alex discussed at Nearcon in February. The doomer take is that AI breaks software, so trust collapses, so crypto's open systems thesis dies. Vitalik makes the opposite case, and as usual the math is on his side. Verification doesn't make code secure in any absolute sense. It replaces "we audited it" with "we proved it." Institutions can underwrite math at scale. They cannot underwrite competence at scale. Users delegating to AI agents face the same problem. Institutional scale and individual sovereignty now rest on the same architecture.

99% of crypto tokens are worthless, but there's value onchain if you know where to look. 60 protocols have MCap/Revenue ratios below 15X both on 1Y revenue and annualized revenue. Of those 60, only 32 pass on revenue to tokenholders. Of those 32, only 6 have accelerating revenue growth.
