Was chatting with @josephch yesterday and he asked a great, but dreaded, question: how will the eth1 chain, all the existing eth1 contracts, and users fit into the eth2 roadmap (Serenity) long-term, as focus shifts to the eth2 launch?

Yet another major blow to the hypothesis that a microbiome of cancer exists. TLDR: the main results from a 2020 @ScienceMagazine paper claiming to find bacteria in breast cancer simply doesn't hold up. Well done @NFdeMiranda, Jacques Neefjes, et al

🔬In a bid to replicate a prior study, we couldn't confirm LPS presence within breast cancer cells. We did spot it around ducts & in macrophages, aligning with its biology.

CASP14 #s just came out and they’re astounding—DeepMind looks to have solved protein structure prediction. Median GDT_TS went from 68.5 (CASP13) to 92.4!!!! Cf. their 2nd best CASP13 struct scored 92.8 (out of 100). Median RMSD is 2.1Å. I think it's over predictioncenter.org/casp14/…

In Berlin he was seen doing the shooting and ditching his wig. In Moscow his target preempted him, his gun misfired, and it was all recorded on video by a parking lot camera. A state-sponsored covert assassin, you can't make this stuff up lol.

I also teared up, was running errands and heard this segment on the radio. Story has been developing and climaxed today in joyous celebration at a cystic fibrosis conf in Nashville. Will treat 90% of CF sufferers (technically not a "cure" but sounds like to a layman).

I follow some biotech but needed to go outside my feed to find this. Sounds too good to be true, but confirmed with a PhD friend, it's a legit "huge breakthrough" in CF treatment. Extra emotional having just the other week watched the movie Five Feet Apart (recommend 10/10).

Amazing work by Jordi on websnark! It's hand-written wasm to do elliptic curves, pairings, etc. We've been benchmarking it, big speedup over alternatives. Excited to use it in some prototype Eth2 execution scripts.

2. BN128-Groth16 verifier.
Verification time: few ms in the browser.
