ICRISAT #Niger, in partnership with the Institut National de Recherche Agronomique du Niger (@inran_Niger) and the Alliance Bioversity-CIAT (@BiovIntCIAT_eng), hosted a national capacity-building workshop on the Multilateral System and Farmers’ Rights under the FAO International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (@planttreaty) from 3–6 June 2026. The workshop brought together researchers, public institutions, NGOs, farmers’ groups, civil society organizations, and scientists from the national genebanks of Burkina Faso and Mali to strengthen capacity and collaboration on plant genetic resources across West and Central Africa. Participants also visited ICRISAT’s regional genebank at the Sadore Research Station, recognizing its progress toward FAO standards and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening partnerships through the @CGIAR Genebank Accelerator.
