Beyond happy and honored to have been appointed by the Italian Minister of Justice as a member of the Committee tasked with drafting the #Italian Code of #InternationalCrimes (yes, don't ask, we still don't have one). Hard work ahead. Great group @s_manacorda @EmanuelaFronza

Since I started my work in the field of human rights in 2014, I have submitted my resignation multiple times after each Israeli offensive on Gaza. After having done my duties as a human rights advocate and -before anything else- as a human being, I fell into depression resulting from desperation over international inaction towards war crimes, and for weeks, sometimes even months, I felt we were screaming into the void. I was known for submitting resignations after each attack until it turned into a joke at the organisation and among my colleagues. As we move to close the physical space of our Euro-Med Monitor (@EuroMedHR) Gaza office, fearing for the safety of our staff following an escalating Israeli campaign in retaliation for our documentation of Israeli abuses, and most recently the release of our report on sexual violence in Israel’s places of detention, I came across this message sent by my manager on the morning of 7 October 2023. Jokingly, he said: “I’m telling you from now, your resignation will be rejected,” and then followed it with another message: “If you stay alive, of course" I sent him the screenshot this morning, reminding him that I “happened to” stay alive, but that, bizarrely, I haven’t submitted my resignation, not during the genocide, not following the ceasefire agreement, and not even now, as an Israeli incitement campaign is escalating. While the world was looking away as a genocide was being livestreamed on their screens, I questioned the point of our work countless times. As I quietly recited the Shahada (the statement of faith before death) each time I entered a school to document testimonies, I questioned whether the world actually deserved more evidence to finally acknowledge that the target was everything called Palestinian, not just a certain political or armed group. I had so many existential questions, but, to my astonishment (and that of my colleagues), not even once did I submit my resignation. With each human rights defender, activist, or journalist targeted, I came to realise more and more that something about them was annoying the perpetrators. And for the first time in my life, I found a purpose in what I want to be; that if I couldn’t stop war criminals, I want to live the rest of my life annoying them. As we close the door to our beloved Gaza office, we have finally, more than ever, found a purpose in continuing what we do by all means, under all circumstances.

✋️When is the red line crossed for Germany so that sanctions are needed to stop Israel from continuing its unlawful expansion of illegal Israeli settlements in occupied West Bank, occupation declared unlawful in its entirety by the ICJ in 2024?
German FM Wadephul yesterday on Israel's illegal settlements: "our voice is being heard in Israel and no further measures are warranted at this moment” A few hours later: Israeli cabinet expected to approve a plan to fund de facto establishment of 61 new West Bank settlements

Shocking that the Commission hasn’t tabled a proposal yet to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements. And that one member state ( 🇩🇪 ) is bending over backwards to prevent this from happening. Shame

Israeli historian @bartov_omer speaking on prime-time TV in Italy: “[Israel is] a country that is unwilling to face the truth, and that brings us to the issue of genocide... When genocide occurs, the entire society of the country perpetrating it becomes complicit in that genocide. Therefore, we must ask ourselves: in the case of Israel, where there is a conscript army made up of the sons and daughters of most Israeli citizens, what does it mean for a country to be involved in these activities? It means that everyone becomes part of this event: those who carry it out, those who deny it, and those who do nothing to stop it... In the case of Israel, this is a country going through a profound phase of denial... When people say that criticism of Israel, criticism of Zionism, or even the rejection of Zionism is antisemitism, frankly, that is nonsense. It concerns the rejection of a specific ideology that is no longer sustainable.” (Via @fattoquotidiano) :::

The work of Amnesty International shows the depth of the Israeli state sponsored crimes, and that the ethnic cleansing of Palestine is nothing but the intended result of the state's long standing unlawful policies - a massive violation of international law
Israeli authorities have deliberately accelerated formal annexation of the occupied West Bank through a state-driven ethnic cleansing campaign targeting Palestinian Bedouin and herding communities in Area C of the West Bank, while committing the crime against humanity of forcible transfer. Our new report is out now. It shows that: ➡️Palestinians Bedouins and herding communities have been erased from their ancestral land, cut off from their pastures, and terrorized into fleeing their homes amid this ➡️What is happening is not an historical or political aberration ➡️The ethnic cleansing campaign is NOT new. It is rooted in Israel’s longstanding system of apartheid, a crime against humanity perpetrated by Israel against all Palestinians under its control for years. Decades. ➡️The campaign is NOT driven by some rogue settlers. The international community is guilty of mischaracterizing the annexation as “settlers’ violence” driven by some bad apples or “extremist” ministers. ➡️Ethnic cleansing in the West Bank is state-sanctioned, state-implemented and state-enforced. ➡️What the the 37th Israel government – a coalition between the Likud, the Jewish Power and Religious Zionism parties - has done is to accelerate a campaign of ethnic cleansing and longstanding oppressive practices, making them more aggressive, and more destructive. ➡️Israel’s turbo-charged campaign of ethnic cleansing must be met with an equal surge of measures by states around the world. ➡️We are calling on states to ban all trade, investment relations and activities that contribute to, or are directly linked to Israel’s unlawful occupation, system of apartheid and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. ➡️This must include banning the provision of funds or any other assistance to organizations that are integral to the settlement enterprise and apartheid system. ➡️The EU in particular must leverage its influence by expediting the long overdue suspension of its association agreement with Israel and suspending visa-free access to all Israeli settlers living in the OPT. ➡️We are also calling on states to impose unilateral, targeted sanctions, against senior Israeli officials directly implicated in Israel’s ethnic cleansing campaign, including Benjamin Netanyahu, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel Katz, Bezalel Smotrich, and Orit Strock. amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…

Video after video shows Israeli settlers violently harassing and attacking Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, seizing their livestock, bulldozing their schools, setting fire to their property and even killing Palestinians as part of a brutal campaign to forcibly displace Palestinians and expand control over the land – with full political and financial backing from the highest authorities of the Israeli state. This is what a policy of state-led ethnic cleansing looks like. Watch. Share. Demand action.

📄The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) condemns in the strongest terms the killing of seven-month-old Sam Fahd Abu Heikal and the injury of his parents, who sustained varying injuries after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) directly opened fire on the civilian vehicle carrying the family in southern Hebron on Friday, 5 June 2026. PCHR considers this latest crime yet another example of the unlawful use of lethal force by the IOF against civilians who posed no imminent threat or danger. pchrgaza.org/?p=38444

Ottima notizia!

If only more State leaders were able to speak like the Slovenian president...

♦️The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continue to perpetrate mass killings and attacks against civilians, including the bombardment of tents sheltering displaced persons across the Gaza Strip. These attacks reflect Israel’s continued pursuit of genocidal acts against the Palestinian population. ▪️The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights’ (PCHR) field researchers have documented a significant escalation in the deliberate targeting of displaced persons sheltering in makeshift tents and damaged homes. Such attacks form part of a broader systematic policy of mass killing and the destruction of the conditions necessary for the survival and stability of the Palestinian population.
