🦔OpenAI and Visa announced a partnership that lets AI agents make purchases through ChatGPT using your Visa card. You tell the agent what you want, it finds the product, and it buys it. Visa handles the transaction and fraud monitoring. Users can set spending caps and require approval before certain purchases. OpenAI tried this before with a feature called Instant Checkout and shut it down after six months when merchants refused to pay the 4% fee. Mastercard launched its own agent payment system the same week. My Take With cash you counted the bills and watched them leave your hand. Credit cards turned that into a swipe. One-click turned it into a tap. BNPL split the cost so you didn't feel it. Now an AI agent finds the product and charges your card. You don't have to do anything. Credit card delinquencies hit a 15-year high this year. BNPL created $400 billion in debt invisible to credit bureaus. And the industry response is to let an AI handle the transaction so the consumer never has to stop and decide. Visa runs 300 billion transactions a year. OpenAI has 900 million weekly users. Put those two together and the person in the middle becomes optional. Shopping without the shopper. Hedgie🤗

Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day. 400 of them are now worth over $100 million. These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries. Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000. Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous." The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before. Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.

🇺🇸🚀 SOME NEWS: I'll be leaving my role at the White House at the end of this month. After a break I’ll be working on helping tackle some of the large challenges facing America on AI (more on that later). It is hard to express how big a privilege it has been to serve the American people and how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to do so. First and foremost, it has been an honor to serve under President @realDonaldTrump . Without his leadership, we would not be leading in the AI race. Second, I owe a lot to the person I’ve worked mostly closely with over the last 18 months - @DavidSacks . His continuing advocacy for America winning on AI has been and continues to be crucial. Some key public accomplishments from last year I’m proud of 1. Architecting and publishing the American AI Action Plan - charting the course for America to win on AI and helping execute on that for the last year. 2. The AI acceleration partnerships to help American AI stack win globally. 3. The National AI Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence executive order (forming the basis for working with the Hill this year) 4. Advocating for the American AI stack with our allies globally (the AI summits in France and India, state visits to the UK, the Middle East and more) So what’s next? The past 18 months have given me a front row seat to this critical moment on AI facing America and our allies. Whether it is energy, data centers or a clear path for Americans to experience the benefits of AI, there are many tough issues we all need to navigate together. I plan on building institutions that help tackle some of those challenges for America and its allies. I want to thank many others who have helped along the way in the administration : Kevin Hassett, @mkratsios47 , CoS @SusieWiles47 , VP @JDVance , @StevenCheung47 , Sec Bessent, Sec Lutnick, Sec Rubio and @jacobhelberg , @USWREMichael , Josh Gruenbaum, Watson Fagan, Ryan Baasch, Jeff Kessler, Alexei Bulazel, DepSec Landau, DepSec Dabar, Will Scharf, Taylor Budowich, @JamesBlairUSA , @elonmusk and many, many others. You know who you are and I know I’ll continue to see you a lot more. Most of all, I want to thank @aarthir on supporting everything and being part of this unexpected but amazing journey from last January. None of this would be possible without her. This journey has been the privilege of a lifetime and shown me how special this country is and how it needs all of us to contribute in anyway we can - and I plan on continuing to do just that. 🇺🇸

Elon Musk thinks coding dies this year. Not evolves. Dies. By December, AI won’t need programming languages. It generates machine code directly. Binary optimized beyond anything human logic could produce. No translation. No compilation. Just pure execution. Musk: “You don’t even bother doing coding.” Code was never the point. It was friction. A tax we paid because machines didn’t speak human. AI just learned fluent human. The tax is gone. Now plug that into Neuralink. No syntax. No keyboard. No screen. Musk: “Imagination-to-software.” Thought becomes executable. You imagine an outcome, the system architects and compiles it into reality instantly. We’re not automating programming. We’re erasing it from existence. The entire profession collapses into a thought. Decades of training reduced to irrelevance. The gap between idea and instantiation hits zero. You don’t build anymore. You imagine, and it materializes. Not incremental progress. Total phase shift. The way humans have created things for ten thousand years just became obsolete. Welcome to a world where the limiting factor isn’t skill, resources, or time. It’s whether you can picture what you want clearly enough for a machine to birth it into existence.

Paris-based startup SquareMind recently raised $18M to launch Swan, the world’s first robot designed to capture standardized, full-body dermoscopic skin imaging. The funding round was led by Sonder Capital, founded by Fred Moll, the “father of surgical robotics” who built Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci system in the 1990s. Swan uses a robotic arm to scan a patient’s entire skin surface in minutes, paired with AI software that tracks new or changing moles across visits. The tech addresses a critical bottleneck in dermatology, where months-long waitlists collide with the fact that 80% of melanomas are new lesions. Commercial launch in the US and Europe is expected later this year.

Jensen Huang just told Stanford to their face that their compute problem is their own fault. And then he explained exactly how to fix it. This was the complaint: independent researchers, startups, universities across America can't get enough compute. AI is transforming science but the people doing science can't access the tools they need. Jensen pushed back hard on one part. It's not that Nvidia isn't delivering. It's that nobody is placing the orders. You can't show up expecting a billion dollars of compute to be sitting on the shelf. But the deeper problem is structural. Universities stopped building centralized compute decades ago. Every department raises its own grants, controls its own budget and nobody shares. "Stanford's not alone. You don't have a budget for a billion-dollar compute. It doesn't exist." His prescription: Stanford has a $40 billion endowment. Cut $1 billion, give it to a cloud provider and give every student and researcher on campus access to AI supercomputers. The same logic applies everywhere. The institutions that figure out how to pool compute and make it available to their best researchers will produce the next generation of breakthroughs. The ones that keep running on laptops and individual grants will fall behind.
