For years this platform has been a fantastic way to share information about PhD career options & feel part of a wider community. However I’ve decided to suspend posting from this account, until I feel comfortable again with the direction of the platform & its content.

I'm currently the target of a significant scam operation on Twitter involving 100s of profiles . They come in the form of paid-for adverts claiming that I made money from cryptocurrencies , then using my fake 'endorsement' to encourage others to invest too . . . For the avoidance of doubt , these are all scams . Please RT ! And @ElonMusk @Safety - please fix this !

A few words about resilience: I recently reviewed the landscape of independent resources for PhDs leaving academia on behalf of industry jobs. I was shocked to discover that most of the blogs and podcasts active 4 years ago are gone now! I was asking myself: did people move on and modify their mission, or did they go out of business? Indeed, this is not an easy topic to take on, and the job market is changing faster than ever. I feel that those who treated this field as a mission not just a source of money, stayed. The rest dropped out. And hey, resilience is the factor for success #1! (I’m attaching the link to Sam Altman’s interview on resilience in the comments below). Here, I would like to acknowledge the titans of work who stayed in the field after the pandemic and are still helping PhDs grow against all odds — please follow them! 1. Jen Polk — Founder & CEO @FromPhDtoLife, 2. @Andrew_Akbashev — LinkedIn’s no #1 speaker on behalf of academia & academics, 3. David Mendes — Founder, Producer & Host @ @PapaPhDPodcast, 4. @verabschan — Host @ PhD Coffee Time, 5. Vicky Sherwood — Founder & CEO @BiomedBadass, 6. Eric James Stephens, PhD — Founder & CEO @ Educators Network, 7. @cjcornthwaite — Founder & CEO @ Roostervane, 8. @chrishumphrey — Founder & CEO @ @jobsontoast, 9. @clcaterine — Author of “Leaving Academia: A Practical Guide,” 10. @dgiltner32 — Founder & CEO @ Turning Science into Things People Need, 11. Danielle De La Mare — Host @ Self-Compassionate Professor, 12. @Nick___Edwards — Host @ Once a Scientist podcast, 13. @salmon_phd — Author of “Beyond Academia: Stories and Strategies for PhDs making the Leap To Industry,” Best of luck to all the new yet how accomplished folks in the field, Aditya Mahara, Ph.D., @EliTheScientist, Ricky Patel, PhD!
