New personal website inspired by Apple iOS It’s simple, interactive (for the most part) & can be navigated by clicking the screen It was a ton of fun to build during the free lovable day Give it a try and leave me some notes 👋 (I know it’s cropped) connorburke.com

Instagram is alerting users who were targeted by hackers during AI chatbot attacks techcrunch.com/2026/06/03/in…

My account was targeted too. I have 2FA and an identity selfie photo. Hoping I am safe…
Today Instagram had this massive exploit where hackers were just stealing rare handles left and right. Hundreds of accounts gone. People losing handles they’ve owned since 2010, some worth hundreds of thousands. I own a few rare ones so I was actually stressed watching this happen in real time, which I haven’t been in years. Obama White House account got hit. These aren’t some random new accounts, these are verified, locked down accounts and they still got compromised. The thing is the exploit is so simple it’s almost funny. Attacker goes to Forgot Password, says their account is hacked, turns on a VPN to match the target’s location (which now you can find on the about section of the page). Instagram’s AI support flow asks them to verify with a selfie. They grab a photo from the target’s profile, run it through an AI video generator to make an animation of the person’s face moving around, upload that to Meta’s AI as proof. And Meta’s AI just accepts it because it can’t tell the difference between a real selfie and an AI-generated video of someone’s face . Once verified they change the email to theirs. Password reset link goes to their email. They own it now. 2FA gets bypassed somehow in the process but honestly I don’t know exactly how, just that it did. Point is even locked down accounts went down. Then you try to recover your account and you’re talking to a chatbot that has zero ability to help. You can’t escalate to a human. You’re just stuck. Your asset is gone and there’s no one to call. The whole thing just highlighted how stupid it is to automate account security without any human in the loop. One AI fooling another AI while there’s literally no person anywhere to catch it. Meta took hours to even acknowledge it while accounts were getting stolen every minute. Now thankfully it’s patched but I don’t think it will be the last one. Stay safe!

Went through a phase of this in college due to our house not having a dishwasher. Roommates didn’t wash the dishes so during our monthly utility review we made the executive decision to pivot to disposables for the rest of the year… Also Sam’s Club is the best for disposables
This will save me from having to clean 750 dishes over time $22 at Sam’s Club

Same thing with Xfinity Mobile. After signup it automatically throttled Netflix to 360p instead of 1080p while on cellular. The second you turn on my VPN it is crystal clear… You had to manually go into your online cellular account and find a hidden page to turn off throttling!

the reason they made this is funny if yall dont know ISPs were throttling speeds when streaming from Netflix and when the user would run a speedtest via one of the usual sites they would detect that and stop it from throttling netflix's test caught this and proved it

I know this is an old meme and I’m sorry not giving credit to who made it but this feature would genuinely cripple the younger generation that is addicted to gambling due to the rise of these online casinos

Surprisingly positive reactions in my work teams chat when I told people “I just prompt and pray” for vibe coding

As someone in DC I do truly appreciate this. Many local fountains that had been turned off for two years are now back on during DC’s “beautification” and I am glad since they went neglected.
.@POTUS is delivering on his promise to Make Washington, D.C. Safe and Beautiful. 🇺🇸

Under his leadership, @Interior is restoring public spaces and repairing the sites that Americans take pride in ahead of our 250th birthday this July. The results are already visible!

I truly think this will begin being more prevalent with unemployment. Those that can afford “unpaid” or “reverse paid” internships just to get the experience (like certification/degrees) will become more successful. I’d pay $10k (even now) to have an internship at @xai or @x and hope for a return offer (make my investment back) or if I don’t get a return than use experience to leverage the name/experience for another strong role. The ROI on experience / name brand compared to university & certifications will soon be more prevalent. 🤷‍♂️
is this ARR

Agree with this. The changes to @GitHubCopilot and their subscription list all its pros. Now just doing the API quota and my rates per models skyrocketed. I’d rather go directly to the frontier labs instead
Going from a $20/m subscription with a usage bar to a $20/m subscription with $20 worth of credits given to you in USD and not providing monthly rollover is a great way to get me to cancel my subscription If you want to keep usage in USD, offer rollover. If you don’t want to offer rollover, don’t show me a $$$$ amount

I really like All Birds shoes. This is sad. I hope somebody buys their designs and manufacturing to keep the brand alive
Shoe company Allbirds just announced that it's planning to - Sell all of its brands and footwear assets - Rebrand the company to Newbird AI - Use a $50M convertible financing facility to "acquire high-performance GPU assets"

A lot of discussion around why Netflix or streaming platforms skip theaters for big movies. Anybody have insight on why? I am thinking that large movie fanbase will need to subscribe to streaming to watch it. The potential $100/year renewal is worth better than $10 movie ticket. It’s all about customer acquisition costs I would think? Praying they will make more money with net new customers over theatrical releases
This is what Paramount Pictures has coming out this year, they’d rather give PAW Patrol and Angry Birds 3 theatrical releases, but not Avatar Aang? Make it make sense.

.@nikitabier @X @xai I would recommend adding a feature to save on xAI compute for Grok follow ups: When I see a tweet, I want to ask Grok about a follow up related to tweet. I click on Grok icon in top right but Grok automatically summarizes tweet for me costing xAI compute and money for something I don’t need. I just want to ask a follow up related to it: I want to ask Grok: what are the other 3 movies leaked?”. I don’t need a summary of this tweet which is costing the company money and compute. Only the answer. Can you add a feature that allows me to open Grok to ask a question with the tweet link auto copied-linked rather than needing to wait for Grok to stop summarizing?

Surprised how upset I am at this leak. The brand has went through a lot and this was a long time in the making and genesis for @ParamountPics ‘s new Avatar Studios. This will undoubtedly hurt or even kill the brand. We have never seen a full movie leak like this before. #avatar
The Avatar scandal just went from bad to worse This is painful, and one of the greatest tragedies in animation history Overnight loss of control of over a decade of IP growth I am obsessed with the Avatar animation franchise & this is just painful to see. Because, based on what I have seen with these clips, the movie would have been mind-blowing! Marketing is messed up They've lost control of their IP, and also, I don't even know how they will recover from this If you are given the chance to watch the full movie, will you watch it now or still wait till October? Oh, and by the way, Aang >>> Korra.

This. A reminder of why Trump was probably pressured by a lot of his peers to be AI friendly since this was our generation’s manhattan project racing and developing against adversaries
So, basically, if Anthropic was not a US company, we’d be facing zero days with multiple unknown points of attack on virtually all of our systems to an adversary who developed this capacity before us.

As I see the autonomous capabilities more and more - why isn’t /overemployed scene growing with people overemployed by subpar paying jobs that can be fully automated in AI but the manager/business owner doesn’t know yet? Ethically - if I can automate my job at these 50k/year jobs and get work done could I just keep stacking them and boss is happy?
