A cat train in Japan. It was opened in honor of the cat Tama, who worked as a station attendant in the city of Kinokawa. The entire train is dedicated to cats, and it even has a library.

Today @USDA @SecRollins and I secured a major win for animal welfare. Ridglan Farms will transfer its remaining 475 beagles out of a research breeding facility and into the care of a no-kill rescue, where they can begin the path to adoption. Thank you, @LaraLeaTrump, for championing this issue. We are also launching a new @NIH office, ORIVA, to speed the transition away from animal testing and toward modern, human-based science. We will keep fighting for humane treatment of animals, better science, and accountability.

I stand by every word. When Ensemble Studios was murdered, the devs didn’t “die”. Some of us founded four new game studios. Some went and pollinated the rest of the industry. Everyone benefited except MicroSoft, who killed us. And we were a studio that ought not to die. Studios that SHOULD die should go.
Sandy Petersen, the designer of Doom, Quake, Call of Cthulhu, and Age of Empires, responding on social media to fans asking how to save Blizzard: "We don't need to save Blizzard. We didn't need to save Microsoft or id Software or Ensemble Studios or Atari. We don't need to save ANY game company. If they die, they die. They will be replaced with new, likely superior game companies. Gaming continues." The man who helped build the foundations of modern gaming says let the industry's legacy studios die. Is he right?

This is one of the most realistic military movies I’ve ever seen. I was flying in and out of Mogadishu during these dark days. This was EXACTLY the environment. Precisely as I remember it. Hot, dirty, chaotic, deadly. My former boss, @BillClinton, really effed this up and he knew it. It affected the rest of his time as our commander in chief. We even talked about it a few times. He didn’t get the military, he didn’t get “us.” And he never wanted to understand us. He was afraid. And it played out like this. Do you remember Blackhawk Down? x.com/CinemaTweets1/status/2…

When I think of the American Flag on this Flag Day I’m reminded of those willing to give everything to protect our beautiful nation. Here are some photos taken by then war photographer Mary F Calvert ( with a link) We were on the battlefields of Afghanistan together and this was the moment I will never forget - the Flag draping a young dead soldier after U.S. Air Force Special Tactics Pararescuemen went in to save them. 🚨🇺🇸 HAPPY FLAG DAY! Johnny Cash captured the soul of America like no one else in “Ragged Old Flag”: “She's getting thread bare, and she's wearin thin, But she's in good shape, for the shape she's in.” That ragged old flag still flies. We are mighty proud of her. 🇺🇸

On this day, we honor the flag of the greatest nation in history — and those who fought and died for the freedoms it represents. May God continue to bless our homeland and our people.

🚨 30 Heroes in 30 Days — countdown spirit to July 4! Major Richard “Dick” Winters Leader of Easy Company, 101st Airborne. On D-Day he led a daring assault on a German artillery battery at Brecourt Manor with just 13 men — the Germans had over 60. It’s still studied at West Point today. Through the frozen hell of Bastogne and into Germany, he led with quiet competence and unbreakable resolve. Never sought glory, just did his duty, and is perhaps the embodiment of the “Quiet Heroes” who are the backbone of America. He came to fame after Stephen Ambrose “Band of Brothers” was released and then turned into a critically acclaimed miniseries. He later was asked if he was a hero and he replied: “No. But I served in a company of heroes.” True American leadership and quiet determination. 🇺🇸 #30HeroesIn30Days #America250 #DickWinters #BandOfBrothers #EasyCompany #WWII

In 1984, two friends went looking for rumored wrecks at the bottom of a lake near Seattle. They found a forgotten World War Two dive bomber sitting in 150 feet of water. They raised it themselves. Then the US Navy tried to take it back. They fought the Navy in court and won. Forty years later, that aircraft flew again. This is the story of the Lake Washington Helldiver..🧵1/6
