🚨EXC: Trump considering pulling US from Nato In my second interview with the president, Mr Trump said removing America from the alliance was now ‘beyond reconsideration’. Singling out the UK, the US president rebuked Sir Keir Starmer for refusing to get involved in the American-Israeli war against Iran, suggesting Britain's navy was not up to the task. “You don’t even have a navy. You’re too old and had aircraft carriers that didn't work,” he said, referring to the state of Britain’s fleet of warships.  My call with the president last night: telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

🚨EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump will confront Sir Keir Starmer over immigration at the G7 summit this week. The US president is expected to press the Prime Minister and other European leaders on the matter after violent unrest in Belfast drew international attention. Washington’s goals for the summit includes “working with G7 partners to strengthen responses to illegal immigration and drug smuggling,” White House sources said. European diplomats fear that Mr Trump will use the unrest caused by the alleged attempted beheading of a man in Northern Ireland to demand that Europe do more. W/ @Barnes_Joe

The issue has become a growing point of tension between Washington and London, with the US president privately and publicly blaming Sir Keir for doing little to prevent migrants from entering the country in recent weeks. telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week. We would like to thank United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during the negotiations, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in the region for their support. We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace. @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @SecRubio @SteveWitkoff @SEPeaceMissions @drpezeshkian @araghchi

It's hard to see how Iran could accept this deal without major incentives. The US does not want to be seen underwriting the regime or handing Tehran cash up front for an agreement. Now we learn the workaround — The UAE is expected to unlock or transfer billions to Iran, including payments worth up to $20bn. A neat solution for Trump and Iran gets its sweetener, without Washington being seen to hand over the cash.
🚨IRAN WAR LATEST Amid a day of confusion, speculation and endless mixed messaging, a senior US administration official tells @Telegraph this is where negotiations to end the war stand: 85% chance the agreement is signed 'over the next few days'. For the US: — Strait of Hormuz reopened — Nuclear material will be destroyed on-site and removed — Iran will agree to stop funding proxies — Iran will be subject to an inspection programme For Iran: If they comply — Iran will be reintroduced into the world economy with the gradual lifting of sanctions and other economic incentives. — The US Blockade will be lifted. The US are framing any sanction relief as 'performance-based'—meaning Tehran will only receive sanction relief as it meets each demand. "I feel very good about this deal, I think the president has us in a very good spot...We’re not quite at the finish line yet but we are very close," offical says.

Starmer is facing an uncomfortable confrontation when he arrives at the G7 next week. He needs to persuade Trump, who he has not seen face-to-face since their dramatic falling-out, to back Europe’s plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and throw his weight behind Ukraine. All while Washington remains unconvinced he is serious about defence spending. Tough sell.
The United Kingdom has an extraordinarily proud military history. It commands our respect. There is again a great need for more British military strength in this critical time. We urge the UK to meet that need with urgency, scale, and determination. 1/

I have heard some cringeworthy takes on my homeland this week, but this is different level. Staunchly Unionist East Belfast wants Ireland back... apparently. 👀

Mere days after the attempted beheading of a Northern Irish man in Belfast, @Telegraph has followed several asylum seekers making the backdoor journey from Dublin to Belfast. One we found had flown from Germany to Dublin Airport, before boarding the Translink X1 bus service to Belfast, the same route believed to have been used by Hadi Alodid, the Sudanese man charged with attempted murder. All without a single check. x.com/Telegraph/status/20651…

I joined @NEWSMAX to discuss the Belfast attack and why the unrest over immigration is capturing America’s attention. Many Americans struggle to understand how Britain got to this point. The questions they ask most often are about immigration, free speech and who has a plan to fix it.

Dublin poodles should be ashamed of allowing the EU to weaponise the border during Brexit negotiations.
Time to close the loophole.

Time to close the loophole.
For years, the open border between Dublin and Belfast has been treated as an immigration loophole. People can enter the island through one jurisdiction, move quietly North, then plug into the British asylum and welfare system unchecked. That may be convenient for politicians who would rather not talk about the border. It is rather less convenient for communities in Northern Ireland now being asked to absorb the consequences. Consequences that we have now seen in Belfast.

Police say he travelled from Sudan to Paris, then to Dublin, before taking a bus to Belfast. Michael O’Leary and others have warned about migrants destroying their passports before arriving in Ireland. Then they travel north with virtually no checks on either system. It's a glaring loophole.

🚨EXCLUSIVE: The White House is considering a plan to buy the Chagos Islands from Mauritius, potentially sinking Sir Keir Starmer’s plan to cede sovereignty of the territory. US officials have drawn up a proposal to bypass Britain’s preferred arrangement and make its own deal to take control of Diego Garcia, @Telegraph understands. It is among several options drafted by Donald Trump’s administration in a paper aimed at providing alternatives to the PM’s plan. While purchasing the islands is not the leading solution for the White House, the idea has been raised directly with Scott Bessent, who has brought the matter to the president’s attention, sources said.
