Khariar Sunabeda - is a landscape of umatched beauty where once the Tiger roared, the connecting link between forests of Odisha & Central India. For the landscape to revive the King needs to be back & the Roar needs to reverberate once again.
#InternationalTigerDay
Odisha should give its Tiger Conservation a fresh outlook, it can begin with #KhariarSunabeda WLS, whose notification has been pending for last 15 years. New territories, protected corridors & renewed conservation focus can bring the Tiger back to Odisha.

The folklore of legendary Field Director S.R.Choudhury & iconic Tigress Khairi made Similipal, one of the premiere #TigerReserves in the country.

Corridors are important to maintain balance & gives adolescent tigers a chance to grow into adulthood. However here a catch 22 situation arises for Kuno authorities as Tiger T136 entere the sanctuary with 3 cheetahs in the wild.

This is our pathetic attempt to 'save' perhaps the most #endangered#Bird-the Great Indian Bustard.fewer than a 100 remain. A salve to our (nonexistent) conscience, no help to the poor bird dying into #extinction .
A national shame.
Unfortunately owing to an extreme weather forecast in the hills, the festival was forced to go online. So here's the recording of my 26-odd-minute session with @daleepakoi. Hope it is of some interest.

India's total of #Ramsarsites now has risen from 49 to 54. Karikili Bird Sanctuary, Pallikaranai Marsh Reserve Forest, Pichavaram Mangrove in Tamil Nadu. Sakhya Sagar in Madhya Pradesh and Pala Wetland in Mizoram have made it to the coveted list.
In these extremely difficult times-a like or share could put Tigers4Ever in front of someone in a position to help. Without your amazing support of our efforts to save wild #Tigers we could never do what we do at all #TuesdayMotivations#YearOfTheTigergoto.gg/34315

Over the years we've been wowed by stunning photographs of wild tigers, especially from India. But have you ever wondered who took the first photograph of a tiger in the wild? When? Where?
Well, here it is. Shot in 1925. The photographer: An Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer.
