First Light is an interesting game. The shootouts all sort of suck, the driving scenes suck, the hand-to-hand combat really sucks, but somehow it all kind of comes together.

Finally finished Pragmata. This game rules. Everyone has called it a throwback to the PS3 era. I think that's accurate, but it's also like a recalculated route back to where games need to be going. I hope we start seeing more like it.

The game industry has normalized apologies for technical failures, but I wish they would apologize for creative ones too. Square Enix owes players an apology for Dawntrail, and RGG owes one for Kiwami 3. It's going to be really hard giving them money again without one.

And it's not just about bad products. It's about ruining a relationship with an entire franchise. Kiwami 3 is dogslop, and it retcons formative elements in the franchise. Dawntrail erodes the foundation of XIV. These issues are impossible to ignore.

Really exhausting how often you see people trying to shield this character of criticism by accusing the fans of being sexist. Somehow that wasn't a problem for Y'shtola, Alisaie, Hydaelyn, Ryne, Gaia, Zero, Tataru, Moenbryda, and countless others.

Platinum on Monster Hunter Stories 3 just shy of 142 hours. I deeply loved this game. One of the best games I've played this year. I'm sad it's over.
