“Opportunities alone are not enough for those furthest from services.” Presenting the Joint Policy Brief, Dr Anthony Kaziboni from the University of Johannesburg highlighted that the Generating Better Livelihoods (GBL) and Basic Package of Support (BPS) programmes adopt a people-first approach, focusing on individual aspirations before linking participants to training, services, jobs and enterprise opportunities. Research findings show that support, guidance and coaching play a critical role in helping people navigate systems and turn opportunities into sustainable outcomes. #GeneratingBetterLives #SocialProtection #SASSACARES
