Very excited to have been a part of this event.
Brussels got a Baltic wake-up call. 150 diplomats, MEPs, business leaders and experts joined BISC's launch to deliver a clear message: Europe's security debate needs more urgency, more realism, and more Baltic thinking. Time to challenge complacency and #BeMoreBaltic. 🇱🇹🇱🇻🇪🇪

why are people so careless with history? Next up: how Hitler liberated the Sudetenland and was provoked into war by Polish imperialism.
Hi @WallaceMuseum please get your history right. Maisky was the SOVIET, not Russian, ambassador. More importantly, and so relevant today, the Nazi atrocities were suffered by the SOVIET peoples and especially #Ukrainians and #Belarusians, look at a map for the theatre of war.

In May 1990, Moldova — still part of the Soviet Union — was the first country to recognise Lithuania’s independence. We weren’t free. But we knew freedom when we saw it. 36 years later, I stood in Vilnius and said: you showed us it’s possible. Now help us follow your path.

Another example of ignorance or arrogance, this time from @FT. “Former Soviet Republic”- what is the point to highlight this? 35 years (!) have passed since we restored our independence after soviet occupation. Does your office in Frankfurt report on former East Germany too?

People in Ukraine are starving. They are freezing. They are dying. This isn’t a headline—it’s daily life. Families huddle in the dark with no heat. Parents skip meals so their kids can eat. Elderly neighbors burn scraps to survive the night. Missiles destroy power grids; winter finishes the job. They need our support—now. If you can help, please help. If you can’t, share. Silence helps no one. Stand with Ukraine. gofund.me/3ab4f6a76

Replying to @Uber
@Uber hi - if there are “plenty of drivers nearby” why is it saying it will take 8 minutes to connect to one, and then when that happens it says it will take them 23 minutes to come…at a major airport? Are you hung truthful or shall I try Bolt?

Hi @SkyNews, what’s with indicating #Crimea as part of #russia, as per the colour scheme in your maps in this report featuring commentary by @MClarkeRUSI ? It’s part of #Ukraine news.sky.com/story/putin-iss…

Dear @TheEconomist - please avoid portraying russia as the “mighty bear”. It is not. This is only how it sees itself. It is a thin scrawny starved thing. A paper bear, if you will. It would have been even more effective to portray it as such.

It would also be a reminder to #NATO of its actual superior position in that relationship.

Rewarding an aggressor will only lead to more aggressive actions. Failing to stand up for democracies who are invaded will lead to more invasions of free countries. To reward Russia for bad behavior and punish Ukraine for fighting to defend itself would be a terrible injustice, America should know the difference between right and wrong and want to be on the right side of history.

"We cannot in any way count on America as an ally." A ceasefire will only come about if Russia is given a "bloody nose" and Europe must think about how to do that without America, says the former Nato deputy supreme allied commander in Europe General Sir Richard Shirreff.

I want to give a shout out to the amazing Martin Cosser who lost his son Charlie to an appalling knife crime in 2023. Martin has devoted himself to raising awareness of the dangers of knife crime speaking to thousands of young people since then. Totally remarkable - and what a legacy for Charlie bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgp…
