🚨 Last call for Spud, now under kill command. Under 40 lbs, Spud was dropped off at a police station mid April. Listed for slamming into his kennel door b/c wants out. Super social & cute w/ a big personality, waggy, curious, playful, sweet, petite, excitable, young & healthy. Has been on a day break & received rave reviews, earned 2nd best behavior rating, looking to be a solo pet.

This scene has done more to promote the monarchy than anything I have seen this year. A mother, married, recovering from cancer, working tirelessly, being booed at with her children as they keep composure, hold their tongue and politely wave back.

💔 Last Sunday, Mercy Full Project Rescue in Tampa, Florida hosted a mini adoption event for Red.
A few other pups came too, but somehow every dog found a home that day except Red. 😔
Red is 6 years old, about 12 lbs, potty trained, affectionate, cuddly, and happiest relaxing with his people.
He can get anxious and vocal in busy public settings, but at home he is calm, easygoing, and full of love.
Red is not looking for adventure. He is just looking for someone to choose him.

This heartbreaking footage was taken in Central Park and shows Deniz, a 16-year-old carriage horse, taking his final breaths after collapsing while pulling passengers.
Join us Wednesday, June 10 at 12 PM on the steps of City Hall for a major rally reintroducing Ryder's Law and demanding that the New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin, and Mayor Zohran Mamdani advance and pass Ryder's Law to end this horrific suffering once and for all. Tonight's tragic and preventable death is a devastating reminder that this legislation cannot wait.
Horrified New Yorkers watched as Deniz struggled in agony before dying in front of a crowd of shocked and heartbroken witnesses. Some were crying and hugging one another as they watched.
No horse should suffer and die this way in the middle of New York City.
Deniz's death underscores the urgent need to pass Ryder's Law before another horse is killed or more people are injured.

My quarterly PET scans were clean!
This means unless something drastic changes, I’ll make it to a year of remission from stage 4 melanoma… for the third time in 8 years.
My prognosis remains good, and the 1 year mark is still significant - both from a statistical standpoint, as well as what it means for how my case is viewed as treatable/curable despite several instances.
It’s very weird living this life. Essentially every second of my thirties has been overshadowed by one goal: survive.
But I’ve done that, and continued to live a dynamic, meaningful life that feels like mine. Cancer is just the spicy shadow, but I’ve been fortunate to remain in control.
It’s not guaranteed to remain like this, but I sure hope so. These are incredible results for a disease that was untreatable 20 years ago.

My father used to say there are two ways to live in this world: as a thermometer or as a thermostat. One reflects the energy around it. The other changes it.
This man is a thermostat.
His joy is contagious. His care is evident. His spirit lifts everyone around him, including a lot of very lucky dogs.
May we all choose to be thermostats. May we bring warmth where there is coldness, cool when things are unbearably hot, and comfort to others who are dealing with a world that can be too harsh and unforgiving.
