The last few weeks we've been working with the team at @runwayml to bring something special to our agentic demos: lifelike AI avatars Available for everyone to try now at Supersonik(dot)ai More human, same Supersonik. Every conversation now feels like a video call with a real person who happens to know your product by heart. Faces that look at you. Expressions that react. The Supersonik agents you already know, with a real presence on the other side. Built in partnership with Runway, who are pushing the frontier on generative video like no one else. Huge thanks to our engineering team and the Runway team for making this real.

I think the opposite is happening and companies like DeepMind, ElevenLabs or Runwayml are living proof. Not even OpenClaw was created from the valley. I think in “early days” of AI everything was happening in a small bubble (2021, 22, 23, maybe even 24). But now information flows faster than ever and incredible companies doing state of the art are popping up everywhere
People at major AI labs (using internal models) 3-4 months ahead of startup silicon valley engineers SV founders/eng 3-6 months ahead of NY NY founders/eng 6-12 months ahead of rest of world Most people have no idea how fast AI shifting as 1-2 years behind SOTA "The future is here, just not equally distributed" - Robert Heinlein

Love to see the Supersonik team flying out to visit a customer at their HQ. Announcements incoming. We're just letting it marinate a little longer. Meanwhile, all you get is this: Alberto and @maronhoxx split the G. If you know, you know. 🟧

have you changed the type of music you listen to while coding in the last 3 months?

Year EIGHT as a founder CTO. 2025 felt like a decade. The year of vibe coding, Apple opening payments, almost getting acquired, saying no, scaling past 100 people, mistakes, cultural memes, and figuring out how to go long. miguelcarranza.es/cto-year-8

This graph from @pablogguz_ of Spanish fiscal contributions by age demonstrates an important fact. The 40 and 50 year olds are carrying both their kids and their parents. And not just economically. This is why it's hard to be middle-aged.

would this optimize for the wrong metric? like, maybe you end up with a team of elite pattern matchers but everyone is too similar?

Hit me up next time you visit! I met @bhalligan last month and I’m pretty sure he liked what we are building :)

Just learned that Jet Blue is going to start offering daily non-stop flights from Boston to Barcelona (one of my favorite cities). One nice thing about living in Boston (vs. SF) is that it's much easier to get to Europe.

Not a common opinion, but I still believe School by Supertramp is one of the best songs in history. My dad used to play this song in the car every time we were about 5 minutes away from home. I didn't understand it at the time, but it's so good.

One of our customers has done 3.4k demos with Supersonik in <2 months. If a typical AE is doing 5 demo/day, we've done almost 3 years of work of an AE

The main difference between those who go far and those who do not is some people have a vision and the others do not and therefore can only react to the current events as they happen

Someone asked me about how I decide if I start with (think) --> (use AI to improve) vs (use Ai) --> (think to improve). To me it's all bout initial context. Do I know more about the problem than the AI? start myself. Does the AI know more than I do? start with AI. This might seem obvious, but it isn't. You need to deliberately think about context. How many of the things that you know about the topic the AI has never heard? An easy example is deciding about your next priority in a roadmap. Unless you've found a way to give the AI all the context about your capacity, clients, competition, current state of your tech/gtm... it's just impossible that the AI gives you the right answer. Think about it and then ask the AI to help you improve. An opposite example is if you want to decide what country to visit in June for a 5 day beach vacation. The AI has much more context about the external world than you do, so with a very small context about your preferences it will get you much further to start with the AI.
