My Dad is the 1st founder I knew. He invented the fully automated fortune cookie machine in the '80s. His trademark was a smile on the fortune. He's not a billionaire but he brought smiles to millions.

Growing up in Boston, we're raised to hate New York teams. Impossible to dislike this Knicks team. I've been around just about all of these players over the years, and they are so likeable. Brunson is as selfless, high-character, humble guy as I've been around over the years.

Can’t get beaten for an offensive rebound like that when you’re 7-foot-5. Can’t have it.

Elon is the best role model for this era because he is the ultimate "bet on yourself" story. Those who bet on themselves will thrive in this post-AI world
Elon Musk in this 2012 interview: " My proceeds from PayPal after tax were about $180M, $100M of that went into SpaceX, $70M into Tesla, and $10M into SolarCity and I literally had to borrow money for rent." $SPCX $TSLA

If you have ever worked at a big company, you know how rare this is and why he's so beloved.
Elon Musk: There are no lords and peasants at Tesla. Everyone eats at the same table. “I actually know the people on the line, because I worked on the line, I walked the line, I slept in the factory, and I worked beside them. So, I'm no stranger to them. There are many people at Tesla who have gone from working on the line to being in senior management. There are no lords and peasants. Everyone eats at the same table. Everyone parks in the same parking lot. At GM, there's a special elevator only for senior executives. We have no such thing at Tesla. We give everyone stock options. Many people who are just working the line, who didn't even know what stocks were, we've made them millionaires. And I just want to say that I'm incredibly appreciative of those who build the cars, and they know it.” New York Times DealBook Summit, 2023

They're private citizens now but will be interesting to hear @DavidSacks and @sriramk take. Wonder if there would have been a more nuanced approach to USG's actions yesterday. For ex, their "N-1" approach to China was so smart imo

Guys: When someone sells a stock, they buy existing cash. When someone buys a stock, they sell their existing cash. A trillion dollars of unrealized stock market value isn't locking up a single penny of cash that could be funding those causes today. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Elon Musk’s mom wishing him the best from the Morgan Stanley trading floor just before the opening trade. A magic moment today.
G-Shot gave the opening speech for the opening bell… anticipating the largest securities offering in history later today. $SPCX To celebrate this historic moment, I gave her the gift of mars…. Her first Mars rock which came to Earth as a meteorite.

These are the exact same people who made “countering hate” their entire identity. They were the first to plant “Hate Has No Place Here” signs on their lawns. They insist “hate speech isn’t free speech.” They proudly fund groups like Hope Not Hate and Stop AAPI Hate They still chant “Love Trumps Hate” like it’s scripture. Yet here they are, in the pages of The Globe and Mail, publishing a guide on “how to properly hate” Elon Musk for the crime of building SpaceX into a company that could make him the world’s first trillionaire. Proof positive that their “anti-hate” crusade was never about hate. They are, in reality, full of hate. It was always about who they’re allowed to hate
A real headline from a Canadian national newspaper. Pretty disgusting stuff.

This is "Return to Space" Elon. Watch that documentary on Netflix. Shows you the part of him that makes one grateful he's on the US side. Ofc there are parts of Elon that make me cringe hard. Humans are made of parts per Jung. He probably overshares all of his but that's the package.
ELON MUSK: "It is certainly hard to believe that little company that started in a warehouse in El Segundo is now going public. It was the largest IPO ever, and let me tell you, if people had told me this was gonna happen, I was like, man, you must be smoking some really good crack, because I think this company is gonna fail. I gave SpaceX less than a 10% chance of succeeding at all. To be clear, in fact, I told people this. I said, look, we’re probably going to fail, but you know, should give it a try, because if we don’t, if there’s not a new company that enters space, we will never be a truly space-bearing civilization."

SpaceX employees deserve every penny. Probably underpaid. Especially those there from the early days.
