When was the 1st time something happened that made you think this might not be the country you'd been raised to think & hope it was? Not just something you disagreed with, but that was of a nature, or created a reaction in others, that made you doubt?

If you're standing up for British Steel you need to abandon Net Zero, abolish carbon taxes and renewable subsidies. But you're doing the opposite. Hypocrite.
Very proud to be in the House today to see my colleagues @jreynoldsMP and @LabourSJ standing up for British steelworkers and industry. This Government is delivering the muscular industrial policy this country needs in uncertain times.

All the things they could be doing, they do this ?
Our statement on the UK government’s demand that all content on all devices sold or used in the country be scanned, on the presumption of nudity, using a dystopian combination of age verification and content scanning. This proposal will not safeguard children. It endangers us all. signal.org/blog/pdfs/2026-06…

I'd never done an interview about net zero. What @KathrynPorter26 told me gave me sleepless nights. Pls like & share - others like me need to know what's going on.

It’s incredible how many Labour MPS signed this letter when you consider that the government have accused the USA of interfering in UK politics

Very sad. Such a gentleman, kind & naturally very funny. We only worked together once, but he was a giggler on & off-set & I just adored him. Too soon, far too soon. RIP Anthony Head.

Devastating forensic analysis all in the same place for the first time of how Sturgeon and Murrell pillaged the SNP. Could the next interviewer of Sturgeon or Swinney please just go through this step by step and ask them to agree or disagree ?

Incredible performance. The live performances of Fat Old Sun, Arnold Layne and Comfortably Numb are canonical imho.
Twenty years ago today, David Gilmour played the first of three shows at London's Royal Albert Hall, with a very special guest appearance for Comfortably Numb from David Bowie, in what sadly turned out to be Bowie's final ever appearance on a UK stage. On Sunday at 5pm BST / 12noon ET / 6pm CET, the entire show, released as Remember That Night, will premiere on David's YouTube (where you can watch the full performance of Comfortably Numb now).

She just said the meme. Blair only appears right wing because most of the left has gone bonkers and thrown out rationality in favour of emotional incontinence.
"So much of what Tony Blair is saying now feels so far to the right" Alison Phillips, CEO of the newly-rebranded think tank, ThinkLabour, on the reception amongst Labour members to Sir Tony Blair's interventions this week. #Newsnight

HMRC has decided to punish 'nice pubs.' They have ordered valuation officials to levy higher business rates on pubs that are in “attractive locations”, play an important role in the community, or are based in “character properties”. Pubs with playgrounds or those which serve a so-called "premium priced menu" will also be landed with higher taxes. This is an extraordinarily disreputable approach to valuation but only to be expected once the independent Valuation Office was shoved under the control of HMRC by dim-witted Labour Minister James Murray. HMRC are as usual obsessed with extracting the maximum amount of cash from families & businesses

SpaceX has almost finished writing V1.0 of an in-house AI training stack in C that exact-maps to 220k GB300s with 800G NICs, making heavy use of pipeline parallelism and getting as close to bare metal as possible. The potential speed improvement vs JAX for large training runs is over an order of magnitude.

I’m calling the 1990s. I want these Democrats back.
In 1998, the United States achieved its first federal budget surplus in 29 years, effectively ending a streak of deficits that had lasted since 1969. This milestone was achieved under President Bill Clinton, following the passage of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, which resulted in a fiscal surplus of approximately $69 billion for that year.
