Dear 🇬🇧, A vote for the @Conservatives is a vote to kill the NHS. After 13 years of running the NHS into the ground, they have sacrificed your public health for their private wealth for far too long. If you value your family's safety, never vote for them ever again. #SOSNHS

The UK govt's approach to migration is cruel and inhumane. The absence of safe routes and the criminalisation of people seeking safety force more people to risk their lives at sea – with devastating effects. RT or QT this to tell @SuellaBraverman we need safe routes now!

Very disappointed that I am being told @PearsonVUE cannot accommodate for me to express milk for my 12 week old when sitting the #ESEGH. Delaying exam by an 1hr isn't really good enough (1/2)

the advice to not announce a pregnancy until 12 weeks is insidious. pregnant ppl need accommodation in those early weeks, because of debilitating nausea & because they might have a miscarriage. this rule perpetuates the idea that pregnancy only counts if it results in a child.

Nurses have had a real-terms pay cut for >10 years. The work they do is foundational to society & they should get a bigger pay rise than what they are asking for & I hope they get it #NHS

Here’s where I think we now stand, and how we should respond. A thread. 1. There is a global trend towards political impunity. In many nations, politicians are testing the limits of constitutional power, and discovering they can get away with almost anything. 🧵

Truss is clearly under political house arrest in Chequers. Rallying support my arse. More like, here's a burner you can contact your mum on, that's it. Who's guarding her while the de facto Prime Minister, Hunt, tours studios not even pretending she has a say anymore? Saturday🧵

@MHRAgovuk should be releasing a statement highlighting the dangers of sharing not only antibiotics, but any prescribed medication with another person. The Deputy Prime Minister of the UK has openly excused and promoted the sharing of medicines. This is dangerous & risks lives

I have done a lot of Twitter threads of late on how worrying almost everything about the UK economy is, and for good reason. But I think it’s only fair to do one that says it really need not be like this. Read on….

Liz Truss put growth at the epicentre of her policy and political narratives yesterday. It is the dividing line around which she will seek to differentiate the world between those who are for her and those who are opposed, in her view, to what she stands for. A thread…

The Truss government is failing. Extraordinarily it has only been in office a month, with the shutdown resulting from the Queen’s death included in that period, and yet the evidence of failure is so compelling that it’s indisputable. But what are the consequences? A thread…

Med students/prospective med students of Twitter - a lot of the loudest voices on here are about the negatives of the job. Yes it has its challenges, yes there’s a lot to be fixed, BUT there are way more people who enjoy what they do and wouldn’t do anything else. I promise you.

In a week when politics is not meant to be happening the government has let it be known that it might hold a mini-budget next week and that growth is its sole economic goal. That aim makes no sense in the context of their own behaviour. A thread……

What can we learn from the death of the #Queen? The world has watched her live through the process of #OrdinaryDying, and yet dying went unspoken, un-named. Let's notice what nobody mentioned: we all saw the Queen going through the stages of ordinary dying. A 🧵... 1/
