This is the fallacy of politicians: they conflate allocating capital with actually solving problems.
If you spend money, then light it on fire, nothing happens. Intentions do not create outcomes.
Solving problems requires getting in the weeds and efficiently addressing root causes with science, engineering, scaling, etc.
I would make MacKenzie Scott look like Elon Musk with how much I gave away.
You’d make me President through sheer gratitude alone. The tips I would give service workers would change lives on the daily. My philanthropy would disrupt the monetary system.
I just don’t get it.

Lower cost, rapidly deployable nuclear will do a LOT of good for humanity.

Fast spectrum reactors that fully utilize fuel will be one of the most important technologies in the mid-2030s as the current generation of advanced fission reactors get to scale, putting pressure on the Uranium supply chain.

FACT: More than 90% of the potential energy still remains in spent nuclear fuel.
Some advanced reactors under development could consume or even run on this fuel in the future.

Superhot geothermal has the potential to be a significant contributor to global clean energy, but lots of engineering required to make it competitive with advanced nuclear, PV storage, (maybe) fusion.

Honestly, people in SF should read the original expansion CerdĂ plans from the 1800s. They faced exactly the same issues we do, and thought about everything: air quality, sunlight, commuting, density. He even designed it accommodating for technologies that didn't exist yet but were growing fast.
