At work, you can do 3 things with time:
1) elongate it (work more hours)
2) save it (work efficiently)
3) leverage it (work on stuff that matters)
So having kids is great because you rapidly hit the limits of the first two & out of desperation force yourself to get good at #3
In your 1st month at a new place:
-start using the product
-read key docs & summaries
-learn people's names
-build rapport with manager
-meet the best PMs there
-ask how to get stuff done
-shadow user calls
-get clarity on your goals
-fix 1-3 things for your team
-listen > speak
