20 years ago this week, as a new PhD, I presented a talk at Caltech on how the interplay of gravity between the sun, planets, and moons create low-energy pathways for spacecraft travel throughout the solar system.
Not every path through space is obvious
Some are hidden in dynamics: natural but unintuitive free-fall pathways shaped by the intricacies of gravity itself
This is part of what’s often called the interplanetary superhighway
We’re still learning how to use it

Very excited to share our latest preprint, where we developed an effective way to train DRL agents on channel flows, and evaluate them zero shot on turbulent wings! 60 times faster and over 10,000 times cheaper than training directly on the wing!!
