Looking forward to #SICB2022 this year! We have 4 presentations from the work I've been doing with
@drdavidhu! We are starting off tomorrow talking about #ConservationTech and my Elephant Biomechanics Ph.D. Thesis! Hope to see you there! @SICB_!
Visit the PUI Working Group's interactive poster at #SICB2022 (P3-56). Ask questions, give suggestions, and plug you or your student's poster or talk on our poster!
Shoutout to @melina_hale for going above and beyond to support students and postdocs during this ever-weirder #SICB2022 season. Fielding concerns as a SPD rep while trying to take a holiday break has been a wild ride but I'm glad to have a president who values ECRs.
Very excited to share that after I graduate this spring, I'll be joining @AnjanBhullar's lab as a Donnelley Postdoctoral Fellow at @YaleBiosphere! 🍾🥂 Now I just need to ... finish my dissertation 🙃
ALT Method for estimating osteological digital range of motion (oROM). Assembled vertebral columns of a cat (A) and tegu (B), showing the locations of the center of rotations using the zygapophysis (purple) and disk (red) approach. (C) Each motion segment consists of an anterior and posterior vertebra (cat, L5–L6). Landmarks were placed at the centrum extremes (dorsal, ventral, left, right; blue: anterior landmarks; pink: posterior landmarks), as well as the anterior and posterior extremes of the left zygapophysis. Limits on motion are determined by bony intersection between vertebrae, disarticulation of the zygapophyses, and strain at the centra. (D) Coordinate system for vertebral bending, where the x-axis is axial rotation, y-axis lateral bending, and z-axis sagittal bending.
Recolorize, my image segmentation package, is now on CRAN (cran.r-project.org/package=r…)! Exports to a variety of formats, including raster, pavo, patternize, or vector images. More examples coming soon, but for now, check out the documentation: hiweller.github.io/recoloriz…#colsci#rstats
Are you going to #SICB2022? I flew in Oct to Phoenix for an amazing collab with @GlobalLocust and I've got tips!
For peak airport comfort:

Well, SVP abstracts were due before this was accepted... so check out my #2021SVP talk for a summary, and feel free to contact me for a PDF of the paper: 3598654.svpvirtual.org/view/…
New paper out in @JAnatomy! This isn’t a high-impact headliner about T. rex, nor does it solve the mysteries of a major transformation — but it highlights the dangers of trying to go there before tackling the basics. 🧵 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
