This week a paper came out in @ScienceMagazine describing a Cambrian lobopod with a single segment head and a brain made of three units - as expected by our hypothesis.
Nothing in science is better than having a hypothesis corroborated by new data.

Eight months ago we published a hypothesis in @iobopen suggesting the three-segment brain and anterior head of arthropods arose from the splitting of a single-segment head into three units.

There was an exciting nugget hidden near the bottom of the recent @SICB_ Member Update. SICB's open access journal, @iobjournal, now has an impact factor! IOB’s 2021 impact factor is 3.2. This is its first IF and it's already on par with many of other journals in our fields.

We have just learned that Integrative Organismal Biology will have a 2021 impact factor.
The use of these is very problematic. Nevertheless, the early indexing by ISI is testament to the wonderful research our @SICB_ authors have contributed.
