Excellent news! Now let's make sure these funds reach #MECFS research. This disease has one of the lowest quality-of-life scores of any illness. It's been starved of funding for decades. Let's stop the suffering. #millionsmissing @EmergeAus #MEAwarenessDay

This is so important to point out! #mecfs is one of the worst and most debilitating diseases you can get - more common than anybody thinks - yet no funding for research and thus no cure.
Replying to @fidjissimo
These diseases are extremely debilitating; for example MECFS has a higher burden of disease than most diseases, yet is critically underfunded.

As usual, @julierehmeyer manages to capture things so beautifully here as she reflects on the loss of her dear friend with #MECFS. The feelings and thoughts so perfectly expressed in this piece by Julie are familiar to so many in the community: so many nytimes.com/2026/04/03/style… 1/

New Cell paper from the team that discovered glymphatic clearance (how your brain removes waste during sleep). Sleep hours DIDN'T predict brain cleaning. Neither did REM or deep sleep. They found what actually matters - and why some sleeping pills might undermine it 🧵

None of my #LongCOVID presentation at Keystone was confidential. In fact there was a point in my presentation where I literally urged listeners to share widely and break the conference photography rules. My team’s science is intended to be shared and communicated widely.

Anne: Today’s research findings however do give those people who have been invalidated for years and years, ignored for years and years, gaslit, made to believe that they’ve got a psychological condition, today and overnight we have received findings that finally validate that 1/
