Another record breaking year! Sweet!
And that's a wrap! Another harvest season in the books! 🙌 A huge thank you to our dedicated growers and everyone involved in bringing in the sugarbeets. An estimated 15 BILLION sugarbeets were piled this harvest! 📸 Gregoire Steve, Jamie Osowski, Angie Larson, Brittany Joy

Great thread for IT leaders, as part of our job is selling the value of IT services and technology
I distilled my 4 years of marketing lessons into minimalistic visuals. 1. Sell Benefits. Not features.

The least understood yet most important concept in the world is Jevons Paradox. When we make a technology more efficient, demand goes well beyond the original level. AI is the perfect example of this — almost anything that AI is applied to will see more demand, not less.

8PM EDT: This is nothing short of astronomical. I am at a loss for words to meteorologically describe you the storms small eye and intensity. 897mb pressure with 180 MPH max sustained winds and gusts 200 MPH. This is now the 4th strongest hurricane ever recorded by pressure on this side of the world. The eye is TINY at nearly 3.8 miles wide. This hurricane is nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth's atmosphere over this ocean water can produce.

As the harvest begins, our teams are hard at work piling sugarbeets in preparation for another sweet season. A huge shoutout to everyone in the field and at our factories making it all happen. Here’s to a successful stockpile! 📸 Craig Mattson, Wilhelm Steenkamp, Cody Kirkeide

If I was Lego, I would release a special set of Jimmy Carter building a house for Habitat for Humanity and raise the age to 100 just for that set. All profits go to Habitat for Humanity. Total missed opportunity.
Jimmy Carter is now too old to play with Legos 🧱

If you allow users with no security and/or development experience to build and deploy no code AI apps, you deserve every data breach you have coming. If you're impacted by one of these data breaches and need an expert to tell you if the opposing party was negligent, hit me up.

I do canary deployments and I’m one person. Deeply concerning engineering culture problem at that company.

How a massive publicly traded company is only going to just now start doing canary deployments is so far beyond my comprehension…

A new discovery that the AI-enabled feature's historical data can be accessed even by hackers without administrator privileges only contributes to the growing sense that the feature is a “dumpster fire.” wired.trib.al/Nj2SVZj

Do not ever trust any incoming call, ever, full stop. Tell that to your parents too: if they hear you call them sobbing for help, they need to hang up and call you back. You can't trust the voice, you can't trust the phone number, you can't trust anything unless YOU made the call
🚨 Just received a phone call from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office this afternoon. Officer reads off his badge number & proceeds to ask if this is [my name] located at [my address] w/ SSN# [reads last 4 of my social]. Fuck. Was walking through Costco as I took the call.

Fascinating, if this is even remotely real. But, to sever and reattach a spinal cord when we can't repair damage to spinal cords today... I'm not yet buying into it. I hope it will be possible someday though.
