Barack and I were so honored to have @AkunyiliCrosby create our portrait for the Obama Presidential Center. Her artistic brilliance shines through — and the way she infused such life and joy into the piece is truly extraordinary. We love it, and we think everyone who visits the Center will too!

Like millions of Canadians, my ancestors left Ireland in the shadow of the famine. They carried hope across the Atlantic and helped build the Canada we know today. To return to Mayo, and receive a welcome such as this, is a testament to the life they built for their children — and to the indomitable spirit of the Irish, everywhere — whose pride in their heritage is unbroken by distance and time.

Trump used the Armed Forces Full Honor Cordon — soldiers who escort fallen heroes and heads of state — to usher UFC fighters past Abraham Lincoln’s statue like they’re celebrities on a red carpet. I am LIVID. And everyone else should be too.

Bravo !!

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of artist David Hockney. In 2018, David Hockney designed The Queen’s Window, a vibrant stained-glass window in the Abbey’s north transept. Hockney's only work in stained glass, the window was commissioned to celebrate the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. It was designed on an iPad and uses Hockney's distinct colour palette of yellow, red, blue, pink, orange and green. The rural scene, featuring hawthorn blossom, was chosen to reflect the Queen's deep love of the countryside. On summer evenings, the light from the window floods the transept, bathing it in a beautiful kaleidoscope of colour. The Dean of Westminster, The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle MBE said: “David Hockney's restless eye and eager enthusiasm for pastures new has left us with an extraordinary legacy that is rich and various and yet also unmistakably his. The window he created for the north transept lets in light that arrives with attitude and even humour, painting the statue of Gladstone in shifting shades throughout the summer months. Hockney has left his mark here and we will long remember a great and very personal genius.”

FOOTAGE OF THE LETTERS BEING REMOVED The irony of the Trump administration claiming to be the most transparent in history is never lost on me. Kennedy Center Workers used a tarp so cameras couldn’t see the removal. It’s like playing hide-and-seek with a toddler: if they can’t see you, they think you can’t see them. A huge thank you to @RepBeatty. This would not have been possible without her persistence and hard work.
