The Renewed Hope National Media Tour – North West has officially commenced, setting the tone for a new kind of governance engagement rooted in transparency, evidence, and direct public accountability. Flagged off in Abuja by the Presidential Communications Team in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the tour began its first leg with Kaduna as the initial destination. This is not a flyover exercise. It is a ground-level inspection, a first-hand documentation of progress, and a deliberate effort to connect policy with lived reality. The delegation is travelling by road using Compressed Natural Gas vehicles provided through the Presidential CNG and EV Initiative and Jet Motors. It is a practical demonstration of Nigeria’s clean energy transition in motion, not theory. The first stop was the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Highway corridor, where the team drove through and inspected the completed 108km stretch from Tungan-Maje in Abuja to Jere in Kaduna. What was once a corridor defined by delay is steadily becoming a route of movement, commerce, and renewed confidence. From there, the team proceeded to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Kaduna Western Bypass. Though awarded in 2021, construction gained real momentum in 2023 under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The dual carriageway spans 21.47 kilometres on each lane and is designed to decongest Kaduna city while unlocking new economic corridors. This tour which will visit various states of the North West is about more than projects. It is about restoring trust between government and the governed by showing the work, not just speaking about it. Across the North West and beyond, the Renewed Hope National Media Tour will continue to document, verify, and present the reality of ongoing infrastructure, energy, and social investments shaping Nigeria’s future.

Your Majesty, I am confident that the friendship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom will continue to grow.    Finally, Your Majesty, I wish to express Nigeria’s deep gratitude to this great nation for the refuge and support it extended during the dark years of military dictatorship. Like many Nigerians involved in the pro-democracy struggle, I found safety here, and I recall that my residence was placed under Metropolitan Police surveillance for protection following threats from agents of the junta. That solidarity remains etched in our collective memory, and it is deeply humbling for me to stand before Your Majesty today as the President of a democratic Nigeria.   On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, I thank Your Majesty, Her Majesty The Queen, Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, other members of the Royal Family, and the people of the United Kingdom for their longstanding friendship.    In the spirit of friendship and our shared destiny, I invite you all to raise a glass with me:   To the special bond between Nigeria and the United Kingdom,  and to the bright future that we shall build together.   God bless His Majesty The King. God bless Nigeria.  God bless the United Kingdom.  Thank you very much.
