Deeply saddened by the loss of my colleague Belal Jadallah, a dedicated journalist and kind soul. He is the 43rd journalist killed in Gaza since October 7. This has been the deadliest month for journalists since @pressfreedom began collecting data more than three decades ago.
We are devastated to learn that our dear friend, media freedom defender Belal Jadallah from Norway’s longtime partner @PressHouseGaza, has been killed. We will continue to work to fulfill Belal’s dream of protection for all journalists everywhere. May his soul rest in peace

It seems our jokes were so offensive that every news site in the country has felt the need to download them from our instagram and republish the whole list on their own websites for a profit

Have had to cancel a holiday due to finally succumbing to the 🌶🦠. Every accom/tour/flights person has been so understanding. They must be so frustrated with all the cancellations, and yet still genuinely enquiring if I’m ok. These simple kindnesses make my soul smile 😊

Discourse around trans people in sport often comes down to "listen to science". Scientists: "We actually don’t know if there’s a biological advantage"; "We don’t have enough evidence to make these decisions [that risk] the wellbeing of trans people." smh.com.au/national/fina-rul…

Wonderful wrap-up images of #ICEM22 and appropriately my over-excited response to being on the turf on the G made it in there 😂 #peakmelbourne

The learning conversation - it’s a 2 way street and the traffic needs to go both ways. Collaboration, exchange, mutually beneficial. Pulling this out of the SIM debrief context into the wider #meded sphere #ICEM22

I have never been this concerned about the state of health care service in Australia and the wellbeing of my healthcare colleagues. We are in a dangerous situation. Look and listen to what’s really happening in primary care, emergency, operating theatres and the wards.

If we as a profession want our EDs to promote a culture of wellness, how do we go about holding our departments/employers accountable? Wellness KPIs that need to be met for training accreditation purposes? What would these look like?? #ICEM22

#ICEM22 @alvarezzzy nails it. “We cannot resilience ourselves out of burnout” But equally “We cannot rely on others to supply a solution” Healthcare and healthcare worker wellbeing are team sports, and we need to be active players in finding improvements.

Culturally - especially in Australia - we need to talk about reinforcing maladaptive coping mechanisms when work is hard/overwhelming/traumatic. Can’t remember the last time I had a rough day that someone didn’t tell me to “go home and have a glass or 3 of wine” #ICEM22
