what is love?
I care about people, period. Enough to care about improving my damn self. So that I can be better to others, and add value to the world.

While I was in Merthyr I had the most extraordinary conversation: while visiting south Wales Farage had allegedly come by helicopter - but then drove from the next valley, where the chopper was - to obscure how he travels. Reform are welcome to correct!

the best explanation of how the system works for the Senedd vote
'The Senedd election on May 7 will use a new voting system to elect an enlarged group of 96 MSs (Senedd Members). However, recent research shows that over two thirds of Welsh voters do not understand how the new system works.' ✍️ Dr Keith Darlington nation.cymru/opinion/how-the…

The constituency breakdown of our projection shows Plaid Cymru winning at least three seats in four of their heartland constituencies, with the party winning four seats in Gwynedd Maldwyn. In Casnewydd Islwyn, Clwyd, Fflint Wrecsam, and Sir Fynwy Torfaen, the party would pick up just one seat. Meanwhile, Reform UK would pick up two or three seats in each of these. Reform UK would win at least two seats in every constituency, and would pick up a third in four constituencies. Labour would pick up one seat in every constituency barring Bangor Conwy Môn, Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd, Ceredigion Penfro, Gwynedd Maldwyn and Sir Gaerfyrddin. The Conservatives would gain two seats in Clwyd, as well as individual seats in five other constituencies. The Greens would win five individual seats in South Wales, while the Lib Dems would win one seat in Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd.

The air over us is very dry today with a dew point of only 2°C in Cardiff and a relative humidity of only 28%. This means washing on the line will dry quickly in the wind!

Of course you know, Ben, but I mention for anyone generally that in the UK, under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, it is illegal to intentionally damage or destroy the nest of any wild bird while it is in use or being built. Police should be contacted directly by phone or email (not on social media, according to the RSPB reporting wildlife crime guidelines), or investigations can be compromised. police.uk/pu/services-inform… Penalties can be severe—unlimited fines and up to six months in prison.

Devastating scenes here in Somerset! I am so sad to see my local reedbeds burnt out. Last week I was watching Reed Warblers and Wrens nesting in here. I cannot believe they have been burnt and destroyed during breeding season 😢☹️😞 Diesel was used to start this reckless act.

16°C in Eglwyswen, Pembrokeshire this afternoon, similar to yesterday but for many it's cooler. Only 7°C in Ebbw Vale with cloud. However, clear sky over England is moving west. Dry & sunny tomorrow and warmer than today but breezy and the gusty east wind will have an edge to it!

☠️ Chlorinated chicken ⚠️ !!! FOI reveals Starmer’s govt is actively discussing accepting chlorinated chicken and lower US food standards as part of trade talks with Trump. This is the real cost of the Mandelson strategy: using elite networking to chase US deals while selling out British farming, food security, and higher standards. The Atlanticist lift continues, British farmers and consumers pay the price. If chlorinated chicken comes into the UK, it doesn’t just change what’s on our plates, it destabilises Northern Ireland. Because NI is legally tied to EU standards, while Britain is drifting toward US ones. This is a system tearing itself in two. theguardian.com/world/2026/a…
👇My tweet thread from January was on the money. Why Mandelson scandal is HUGE and impacts us all: 1. Mandelson was fast-tracked despite known red flags (Epstein, China business links via Global Counsel/WuXi AppTec, Russia concerns). 2. Simon Case advised vetting before announcement. They ignored and announced first anyway. 3. Robbins described “constant pressure” from No 10 to get it done. 4. Starmer personally texted Mandelson the night before the announcement expressing excitement about working side by side. 🔥 5. Meanwhile, government continued with policies (farm tax/IHT raid, certain trade approaches) that made a genuine EU reset harder and tilted toward US-style openness/asset flows. This is classic strategic ambiguity: talk EU reset to keep rejoiners happy, deliver Atlanticist alignment (via Mandelson and other moves). The result is Britain stuck in the middle, irritating Europe without securing clear US gains, while domestic sectors like farming take the hit. My January warnings were correct. The Mandelson scandal has ripped the cover off the strategy: elite networking and US-facing deal-making took precedence over process, security, and honest communication with the public. The Mandelson gremlin project was always about managing Brexit in a way that preserved establishment access to global (especially American) power centres, not delivering a clean sovereign reset.
