Amazing to see party leaders meeting with @GretaThunberg @AnnaUKSCN @GeorgeUKSCN and @HollyWildChild to discuss the climate emergency. An empty chair for @theresa_may as the govt sadly continues not to prioritise this issue.

Since 2014 we have grown FREE 'organic' (no-chemicals) in our local urban park in an area of high food poverty - it is there for people to harvest and they do👍 communicipalism.blogspot.com…

Up until now, farmers and companies have felt the need to choose between profit and ecosystem integrity. Now, they don't have to. regen.network

Think perhaps a trip to a cricket farm is in order.. #sustainablefood #edibleinsects #futureoffood
Also came across an intriguing stall making cookies from crickets! Each cookie has 30 crickets (currently sourced from Europe) ground up to make 10% of the mix. Crickets use fewer resources and offer same gram for gram protein as beef. Surely a no-brainer for sustainable eating.

Interesting line in here from produce traders at Covent Garden who voted Leave and seem to be the only ones with any optimism about impact of Brexit on food industry. Majority view seems to be ‘halted investment, shifted production, uncertainty’. Great piece by @jayrayner1.

🍌 #TooCoolForPlastic update! 🍌 One of our top selling products is a bunch of bananas. To ensure none snap off & the same amount per bunch, we wrapped them in a plastic bag. That’s 10 MILLION plastic bags a yr - how bananas is that?! Another UK 1st & such a simple solution!
