TBPN shares the best piece of advice they ever got which led to being acquired by OpenAi for $100M "He was our very first listener. We sent him a link and a google drive. From the first episode he said: take this 100x more seriously than you are right now. And we did." Wisdom from @davidsenra that you should probably apply to whatever you are working on right now.

had a lot of very mixed feelings about work lately. i've been doing all of this for decades (👴) and realizing i kinda need to throw out most of what i've learned and processes i've used over the past 25 years. but to be honest, i'm struggling. i'm throwing so much at the wall and right now nothing is sticking. presumably the answer is picking something(s) and just focusing hard on them. but that's obviously no guarantee either (had plenty of failures over the years on things where i was all-in). this is the eternal entrepreneurial struggle though, right? there's just something about the current state of tech with AI that makes it all feel...different. i don't know. hard to quantify. part of me thinks the answer is to actually *increase* my output. try *more* things. make the feedback loop *faster*. but that also increases my anxiety. maybe my issue is that i'm afraid of committing. constantly throwing different things at the wall feels like experimentation. like i'm gather data. like i'm being productive. but committing to something and going deep on making it work...that means i could be wrong on a different scale. but not committing also means i'm potentially missing out on something truly succeeding (however it is i'm defining "success"). i don't know. lots of existential stuff going on in my head. if you read all of this. thanks. /end venting

Turns out with claude code, my decades long strategy of NOT deeply learning: - regexs - sql - nginx confs - elaborate shell commands - advanced shell scripting - any javascript framework - perf optimization - webpack, cdns, bundlers - 1000 other things ...was entirely correct.

I built daybits - habit tracker vibe-coded with Claude Code. The app is live. You can try it now: → Web app is up → iOS TestFlight waitlist on the site → Free. Forever. Not a side business. It's a playground and a simple tool I actually use every day. Feedback welcome!

i have a lot to say about these ads but holy fucking shit… this might be the most tasteful & brutal takedown of a category leader i’ve ever seen. & during the fucking super bowl? insane. usually these things almost always fall flat (see: slack “welcoming” microsoft teams with a fucking newspaper ad & how cringe that was), but this one lands dead center. even normies will clock the subtlety. the capturing of chatgpt’s drift in personality, tone, & vibes is absolutely unreal. almost surgical. normal ppl i know make fun of how chatgpt talks. imo openai made themselves vulnerable here by simply trying to do so much (enterprise, codex, consumer, etc) & lacking a singular cohesive narrative other than they have 800m users. like even google is taking shots about openai being forced to run ads. anyway i’ll post more but this was an absolute master class (i have posted about how openai competitors should handle their ads play, & this is a great start). also i would not count anthropic out of the consumer race yet (they have a lot of room to grow & even potentially acquire small startups).
